Motorcycle runs into cyclist

I swear that hill must be really high as every video i see of that corner has some dumb arse doing dumb .... like that . Must be the air is too thin up that high .

its a very tight increasing radius, not for beginners thats for sure! Very famous road here in America...

 classic case of target fixation...cyclists in this case were completely innocent!!!

Things to learn, your bike will basically always go where you're looking until you learn to ride properly....

Feel sorry for the cyclists on this one but still normally on my daily rides here in the mountains they spend much too much time wriggling suddenly when going up hill with their heads so far down they have no idea what's around them and down hill going very wide on the corners at way to high speeds for the end result of lycra and tarmac mix that happens regularly. And lets not talk about the fact they believe stop lights do not apply to them in anyway way!

Holy target fixation Batman! It appears the rider sees the cyclist with plenty of time to adjust his course then turns right into him. Even throws a foot out in front Flintstone style at the last moment. Also from the lean of his bike it doesn't like like he was going all that fast (the turn is tighter than it looks in the video) he should have had time to react properly.

And a photographer was coincidenlty in place to film, hmmmm....

That corner is called the Snake At Mulholland, it's a 25mph turn uphill and a steep bank to the left but flatten out at the top. You really have to drag your knee or extreme lean angle otherwise you will go wide every time if you don't do the speed limit. When you first take that turn you would think with the steep bank you wouldnt have to lean as much but you do. Thats the mistake people make. Just about every time I go there somebody lays their bike down. Most people try to take it at 45mph and that is really pushing it and it's definitely not for the novice. It's has gotten too crazy with cars trying to drift around that corner and end up crossing the yellow line.

That girl in the video is there every Sat and Sun with MickeyMouse taking photos of you leaning and sells the photo if you want to buy it. All the celebs hang out there and it's just down the road from the famous rock store.

I ride that road EVERY Saturday and Sunday for many years.

i do tend to ride early before the large group of photographers show up.

sometimes I take my daughter on the Monster or Harley through it later in the morning and it just seems like the dozens of people standing on the dirt parts with cameras and video equipment throws a LOT of peoples concentration, either showing off for the cameras, or just NOT trying to look like a dumb ... and they make mistakes. it is a challenging turn, they call that section of the road the Snake.

but i saw one poster on here once say " oh you live where the photographers throw gravel and sand in the road to get better pictures" i am not saying they do that.

but i do think about that quote every time I ride there

Has anyone ever been able to ride it out without crashing ?

Ouch!

A little off thread but one thing that video demonstrates to me is that a cycling helmet certainly can save serious damage despite what the neysayers think. The way that cyclist's head hit the floor first was horrible to watch.

She's like a Pilot fish hanging around a shark to pick up the leftovers. But she is hot, so there's that...

Yep she is pretty hot in real life too! I think guys crash there because they are trying to impress her. She is actually a really nice person her name is Shera.

I think someone on youtube made a video montage of her because many people were asking about her

Bicyclist think stop signs don't apply to them and motorcyclist don't think speed limit applies to them.
