Motul 300v Factory Line vs Competition

I can't find too much info on the difference, they are both offered in 15-50. I think the comp is geared towards automotive engines?

Thoughts?

Yeah, I've been thinking the 4T is specifically for bikes but it can't be that much of a difference?

The Factory Line is made specifically for motorcycles as it is JASO certified not to cause slippage of wet clutches (which our 1199 has).

The Competition line is not JASO certified and may cause your wet clutch to slip.

How long does 300v last when used in road applications?

I've read a lot of conflicting opinions (on the Internet... never), saying that 7100 is better for road use.

I've polled a couple of reputable techs and they've said the same thing, that 300V is the best for racing, but is not meant to hold up for a long time in street situations and may break down quicker of a typical service cycle in a street bike.

as stated comp is for cars factory is for bikes.

motul 300v is a double ester oil. For racing its the best around. In the street no so much. In the north east you are going to store your bike for winter (most people anyway) so you are going to change your oil once a season. you can tell when you need new oil with motul cause of the color. The previous poster said typical service cycle. The 1199 is about 7000 miles with full synthetic. some guys here do it every 3000 or as needed. I do mine once a season unless it needs a change and you can tell. The 1199 burns oil so you are always topping off. if you have no problems spending the money on it IMO its the best out there. even smells like bananas and if you had to could dump it in your yard as its made from plants.

ps amazon has a sale on castrol with tax it comes to 8.70 a qt delivered to your house. motul is about 18 a quart. Is motul 10 a qt better than castrol i doubt that much.

any grade castrol racing 4t is the sale.
 
The motorcycle oils have an additive to avoid slipping of the clutch.
When using your bike on the track, the most important is to change your oil as often as possible and then it does not matter that much which type of motorcycle oil you use:D
 
Quite a few years ago, I spoke to Motul rep about using the 4T Moto 300V in my truck and he mentioned that the sulphur content is higher in the moto line. This also have a chance to ruin some sensors in cars but not so much to deter using it in a car. Please don't ask me why I wanted to use the 4T moto oil in my truck.
 
Motorcycle oil also has anti-foaming agents because of the high RPM of motorcycle engines.
