I dropped one tooth on the countershaft sprocket. Its beautiful. At COTA its perfect, my fastest lap was a 2'24.75. On the back straight I still chicken out and jump on the brakes before it hits the rev limiter. I think that COTA definitely has one of the longest straights, so I believe that gearing is money.

My experience is that stock gearing is too short for COTA. I was on the rev limiter even before the scaffolding coming into T12. Speedometer went to three dashes a second or so before that. Went down 1 or 2 teeth in the rear and was no longer in the limiter.

I’m there this Thanksgiving weekend and hopefully the weather will hold up. Im pretty slow compared to you guys but I’ll see how the stock gearing makes me feel. And if it needs changing, the winter will be the perfect time to tinker.

I get an ICE warning when I first start MY21 V2 with the headlight removed. I believe it also disconnects the air temperature sensor, hence the ICE warning. It does not affect how the bike runs. I have race plastics, so my headlight is swapped out with larger intakes (much larger!). I am not sure if there are any blanks for the headlight area. The headlight assembly is heavy too!

There are headlight blanks and you can move the air temp sensor to the blank as its the exact same as the headlight housing, only black plastic.

I got my blanks from Vultur Bike.

Right! I am on a 22' I know it has a different gears including a taller 6th, thats probably how I was able to drop a tooth and hit that sweet spot. What kind of lap times are you doing at COTA?

How bout you Frank - what’s your pb? You local here to COTA?

Most recently at the BMW event in October I did a 2:24.75 on my bike. Its a 22' base that I have been modding over the season. Bolt ons, exhaust and tune.
This is my fist jump up from a V2. WOW, its literally a jump to light speed when you pull the pin on a V4! lol. The GPS timer shows that I barely get over 180mph, but when I do glance down at the dash, I am over that, so who knows.
I recently had to move away for work but the guys at Ducati Austin keep my bike there as long as I come back to do track days with them. Sadly, now we have to wait till spring. ~:/
