I agree, but I'm happy you finally got your bike back. Hopefully, no more issues. Enjoy it...

Hey, hey, hey no editing quotes around here! Oh I'll enjoy it. Gonna be a long day of work tomorrow and the weekend I'm free!!! :)

+1...and work on those chicken strips:D ;)

Hey, had I ended up selling the bike they would've been a free bonus ;-)

I know. The tire is semi new though- first one caught a nail. This one only has about 400 around town miles on it. I promise I'll work on it.

If you are only riding on the street there's nothing wrong with having some insurance room on your tyres.... too many unknowns around every corner...

I think it looks awesome.....how was the ride ???

Well, short. I ended up driving up there at 5 with my truck before they closed, left my truck there, sped home, grabbed a bite to eat then a coworker who left work by my house picked me up and dropped me at the dealership to drive my truck home. I plan on taking a ride up to the Watchung Reservation this upcoming weekend. I've hear its a beautiful area to ride.

No track. Not yet. Not sure if I'll hit one this year. This being my first sport/superbike I think its best I get 100% of the feel for her on the street first.

I've always been a big ..... behind the wheel of a car and behind a bike. Working on changing that.

If you have a track in your area that sponsors practice days which allows you to ask experienced riders to show you the ropes vs. having to duel it out with a bunch of .... slapping guys who want to show off, go for it.
That's how I learned to trust my bike's capabilities and improve my skills in an environment way safer than the street. :D

This is exactly why i dont let dealers install simple .... on my bikes. If it isnt going to void your warranty, install it yourself, and still do it if it will sometimes. :p Thats always been my philosophy.

Ditto !!

Same thing happened to me and I have Ducabike but I didn't loose the bolt

Well, I always read about it and now I will admit to the forum that it happened to me this past Sunday. Mark rode down from NYC and had an incident with his Ducabike rear set bolt coming so loose it almost came out.

Then while riding with him Sunday I went to shift into first at a light and the shift lever went straight off and after pulling over and looking at it my Ducabike linkage bolt came right off the rear set and was hanging down just as Mundman stated above.I also didnt lose the bolt and was lucky anough to just thread it back in and tighten as best I could. Limped home and put some thread locker on it and tightened it up. Will it happen again?

This is such BS with all these bolts coming off regardless of if they were Loctited down or not. To ride around with the thought of your bolts coming loose somewhere on this bike isnt the best feeling. Gonna write Ducabike about this, and maybe another thread on it all so everyone else with this issue can chime in and I can include a link to thread for them. Its not a Ducabike issue, but a dealer installation one and actually falls on us too fo rnot checking every damn bolt on ENTIRE bike each damn time you go out for a rip! UGHHHHHH

I actually brought up this incident with the guys at my dealership (Ducati Minneapolis) and they were kinda surprised to hear such a thing happen and felt bad for my friend here.. while they did say that they are not perfect, they ensure that such disasters don't happen and that the customers are well taken care of.

I would not move from Minneapolis just to get more bike time in a year and finally end up in a place with a ...... dealership which is gonna make my biking experience a nightmare when it comes to servicing. I am really fortunate to be in a place where I know my bike is in excellent hands :)

i might have said this before in a different thread but the ducati dealership in mpls on hennepin is probably the finest one i've been to. wherever i go, it try to visit them and it's one of the best imo (haven't been everywhere tho). Too bad I didn't know anything about ducati bikes when i lived in hopkins in the late 90s.

They are actually at the corner of Lyndale and 28th.. I fell in love with Ducati's after hearing one on the road 4 yrs back in Chicago and visited a dealership there for the first time (they also dealt in Triumph and KTM and weren't extremely customer friendly) but the guys here in Minneapolis kick ..... they have a community called DOOM (Ducati Owners Of Minneapolis) and they host meetups once a month, track days and weekend rides.. I made so many friends in a week just through that.. its just incredible

that's right, lyndale a couple streets over; i stand corrected. sounds like a great ducati community if i'm ever in town next summer, i just might try to find you guys.

Well, I'll openly bash
Cross Country Ducati/Cycle on Middlesex Avenue in Metuchen NJ.

Pitiful shame that Ducati Corporate doesn't send out surveys about our experience. I guess they know they'd be getting a ton of flames.

These ........ couldn't keep me posted at all, then act like they did some major deal for me by "goodwill" "giving" me a $448 part. Over a month out and I get it back leaking fluids, and now have a stained tank they didn't do anything about. Joe (svc manager) came out and cleaned the bike when I picked it up as best he could and told me he would "note it" referring to the stains that could eventually pit even further and get larger and larger.

I don't recall if I ever got into the end result of my overcharge from last winter.
Well a real condensed version: I get an email coupon for 50% off service at Metro Group which includes Cross Country Cycle (which includes Ducati, BMW, Husqvarna). I schedule appointment for parts install. I'm quoted 2.5 hours. No authorization to go further, I'm handed a bill for 5 hours of service. So, now I should be charged my original 2.5 hours, then get the 50% coupon. At the checkout register the use of the coupon is denied saying its not good for Ducati. HMMMMMM. Email didn't say that. Printout didn't say that. Why am I sent this coupon when I've bought two Ducati's and only authorized Ducati related emails be sent to me?
So I left that day and contacted former salesman Al who went right to the GM. They ended up bumping the bill down to the original (legally binding) quote. Then they took the (legally required) coupon (50%) off. In the end, I paid what I should have, and it ended up being a fair price, but here too they did the absolute bare minimum to not violate the law. Customer service hasn't been the goal whatsoever. Staying within consumer/warranty law has appeared to be the only goal.

In the end- my business will not be going there again. After a recent weekend ride with a few guys they're a nightmare. I'll do my best to make sure the guy I met who bought his 250R from CC doesn't go back again. My sales experience with Al was fine. Although when I went in there in late November last year looking at Pani's I was preapproved for 4.44%. Then, look at that- in December when the White came in I went back and they gave me a 6.49% quote. hmmm. In that time my FICO did NOT go down, but it went UP.So during our price negotiations I decided to call the Credit Union (United Teletech) and long story short I found out that the loan was actually approved for 4.49%. HMMMMM. Isn't that odd!!!???
Called CC and they said they'd "look into it." Al calls me the next day saying "Yeah, there was a computer mixup, the head guy at the credit union apologizes" yada yada yada yawn ........ more ......... Maybe there was an issue (No, I don't think so). But it would appear to any human with even half a brain that they were attempting to shaft me and pad the rate an extra 2%. Can we say SHADY?

Now I need to decide whether my baby goes to Ducati in Manhattan or Jack Trebour in Ledgewood NJ.

With regard to worrying about bolts falling off: yes, its sickening how on my ride to Ocean City MD last month I couldn't even enjoy it as I was paranoid about the god damn bike falling apart to pieces. Whateva, I still ride her hard! If she breaks, well, it'd probably be best I keep those thoughts to myself.

Keeping my fingers crossed I can snag a new job making even better $$, and can get my own place and add to my collection with a GS Multi, as the Pani is getting paid off in a week :::D
