My first Ducati breakdown

I had a similar issue with my S4RS and I have to agree with you on the DNA folks, absolutely worthless. They kept passing the blame to the dealership that was nice enough to keep me totally informed with emails, pics and updates.
They also let me take out any loaner bike I wanted.
Conclusion: fire your dealer and give DNA a good piece of your mind about the dealership and their own lack of involvement

IMHO, you have a right to be mad. You are missing out on a month of prime riding season and to make matters worse it is because of something you paid good money to have installed correctly by a professional. I'd be mad too.

Aside from doing this stuff yourself, afterall that's irrelevant now. You have every right to be pissed off at the dealer, I certainly would be. But, Ducati is in Italy, it's a global business and I wouldn't expect them to act like a Mom and Pop business over your bike. I know it sucks, but the problem is at the dealer level. Hopefully, you get your bike back soon and can go ride it. This will be a distant memory.

AGree with you 100% Stw. I agree also with the poster above this really isn't a Ducati problem. But I'm sure you can understand how when a Dealer has a lack of service good business would get down that dealers throat. I've had family who have had problems with getting their Chevy serviced, and a quick call to GM had those problems resolved asap. I'm not mad at DNA, like I am the dealer, just disappointed they don't handle customer relationships a little more caring.

Thanks zaster! I'm glad we've all moved past this just being about a loose bolt now :D At first I kinda blew up a little hard, its good to see I'm not being hung here anymore. Three weeks, I'm just sad :( okay, and

Wish my dealership kept me informed. Ya know, call me when they pick the bike up. Call me when "incorrect" parts are received and give me a new ETA. Call me when the General Manager says they'll call me. The entire first week I let them slide because they were busy as all hell. No more excuses. These people just don't care to engage in good customer service. It pleases me to see that a few dealers have loaned guys bikes. Honestly this dealership is a good size. They have a full line of Ducati Demos- Multi S, Diavel, 1199, SF, 848, Monster, etc etc. They could throw a dealer plate on and say see ya. I would've even settled and taken one of the s1000rr's or even a Jap bike they have. But nothing; Im sure that wasn't even a distant thought in their brains (as it seems). I've been stuck driving a 10mpg guzzler in the meantime and am being killed all over again with gas jumping big time in NJ.

Funny, the first time I complained about these dicks overcharging me I made a thread, and my old salesman heard about it and was like "Hey man, come to me before you do that, you know I'll take care of you." Well that salesman is no longer at my dealership so I guess maybe that has contributed to the lack of care. Being that I'm only 20, most of my family feels they're playing games due to my age. Who knows -_- forgetaboutum!

I have a local dealer who didn't screw up anything but tried to shaft me (2x) on price quoted vs price charged... What did I do?? I told them I would never deal with them ever again..and I haven't... I totally get that you're pissed off...but its not "fair" to blame the bike.. You have admitted you are young and headstrong... Been there and still am... well not young anymore but anyway... You are going do as you see fit...To me you have a beautiful bike which you will not get what you really want for it as that's the way things work...so I would keep it and find a much better dealer and enjoy the bike....

I have had a dash issue with mine that really dented my confidence in it and even more Ducatis ability to solve the problem..they have now come up with what does appear to be a permanent solution and now I find more and more that I really really like this bike... Please think on this...I can only speak for myself but this bike has something about it that grows on you the more you ride it....Give it a chance..Maybe???

Outrageous!! I'll bet if Joe Shmoe walked in and wanted to buy those rear sets, they could scare them up quickly. They suck!

I know, thats the thing- I haven't ridden in much at all in decent weather by me. Been beautiful for 15 of the past 20 days. Maybe once I get back on it, tell the dealer SEE YA! "I'll take my $$ elsewhere" then I'll enjoy the bike more and more. I've always been a pushover and would threaten to not deal with someone but then always end up awkwardly going back. I really need to prevent a third major incident with these people and just stay away now. Thanks

Everyone is different and I do not know your riding background.. But I do believe with some miles on the 1199 you will rethink selling it.... Just paint it the right colour..J/k:D

Do you already have the DP Race seat? IMO it's a must when using the DP Rearsets as they're much higher. Enjoy them! Make sure to use a minimum of Blue Loctite on all parts of them. Let me 21 days without my bike be a lesson.

Yeah I have the DP race seat its great.

i had the same on my R, i had DP's fitted from new and 700k's layer that bolt came loose then no shifter.

Sorry your going through the issues.

Your doing the right thing. Be patient, get your bike fixed and move on to another dealer.

The internet is a wonderful thing. Bad reviews may not cause them to close, but it certainly will impact there business with enough of them.

Thanks. Yep... I plan on emailing the owner a link to this thread once I've got a functional bike back. I could definitely see someone either being yelled big time, or worse, fired. Fugg'um!

Same thing happened to me and I have Ducabike but I didn't loose the bolt

Why not to ask the dealer to put the old rear sets back. One month without the bike because of missing shifter is crazy. The dealer should do this free of charge and then re-install the DP ones when they get the shifter.
