Lowered tyre pressures to 33 Rear 31 Front fitted Comfort Seat now rides much better " less harsh, more feel". 600 mile service completed today. Opened it up for the first time, massive controlled power no great tendancy to wheelie, very very fast machine, feels alive. Took it to Cadwell for noise test failed at 108Db with Termi's and no Db killer. Next time I will try with Db killer to see if it gets below 105Db (max at Cadwell). At high revs the bikes noise is unreal loads of Induction and Exhaust noise, hurts the ears need plugs, but then you don't get the full affect.

Did DB killers come with the silencers? I had my Termi's fitted when I picked up the bike and I haven't looked in the box the stock silencers were put in. Would they be in that box?

Congrats on the progress with your bike!

hi SoonerNation
They should be in the box - mine were in the box in a small separate bubble wrap packet. The baffles are surprisingly small and could be easily overlooked.

I'll look in the box. Thanks.

Mmm you say run in, yet just had first service... Take it you're not going for the recommended 7k rpm limit then?

Again the race track db levels raise their head again..

So did you see them do the test? Did hey do the test correctly? Considering that if done incorrectly all they will pick up is the extra db's bouncing back off the floor etc...?

I noticed the fact it really didn't want to wheelie. Will mess with the DTC...

Hit 650 today, need to schedule a service when I can fit it in. I noticed my yellow moved up to 10.5K. (I think)

Has anyone else noticed, that, sometimes after the first service, when you turn the ignition on the orange rev limit goes to 8k rpm, then other times it goes up to 10500rpm??

Or is it just mine? Is a bit strange to be honest...

In the manual it states that it will be lower if the bike is cold to warn you to keep it under a certain rev limit. But will move as the bike gets hotter. Maybe thats what your seeing?

The orange zone moves up from 8k to 10.5k when the coolant temp reaches 50C. So you'll see orange down to 8k for the first mile or two, less if you let the bike warm up at idle while you put your gear on - always a good idea. This Is common on performance cars too, the BMW M3 has done this for years, but I don't know of any other bikes that do it.
