New display screen

I'll need to ring the dealer tomorrow, bike has been in locked in the garage for the last week, since I last went out on the 7th May. In that time it's been warm and wet and my dash has a problem with condensation. Went to get the back out earlier and the screen is now cracked in 3 places! Not sure if this is related to the condensation or something else, but there's nothing in the garage capable of falling on the display.

Does anyone have an knowledge of fitting a new display? I'm hoping it's just a simple piece of plastic, rather than a whole new unit, but that might be wishful thinking...

What with my 15k mile service due soon, it could be an expensive summer.

The entire dash has to be replaced"¦..Thats not even the ...... part

1. The milage on your year model bike will NOT be able to be written. Meaning your dash will display 0000 for milage, and it won't match the actual miles that they have on record. ....... typical.

2. Its not a simple swap like a GSXR1000. They have to disassemble the entire front end, and it HAS to be connected to the Ducati computer for the update.

3. They WILL warranty it ONE time, on the second, even if its their ...... dash, tell you to (as you would say) "Piss off"

I did read a post on a forum stating that ducati have updated, patched there software so they can now put the old mileage onto new dash for 1199.

Phoned Wood of Abergele (North Wales) today, and was told they'd never heard of the condensation issues I spoke of, or why it had cracked, but said they had a good stock of displays...!

I'm looking at £650 for the display itself, including vat, and another £75 fitting. For our American friends, I guess that's about $1100

Its a well known issue and Ducati replace for free. I suggest worth you trying another dealer to see if they can ask ducati to replace even though outside of warranty because it should NOT happen to such a costly bike(Misting and Cracking)

If worse comes to it and you have to pay for new one, tell Ducati that you think its only fair they do you a new one at trade cost price and free fitting.

IF,
They wont do that and still charging for swopping dash over, then bring it to mine when and I will do it for ya while your here for ya mate.(Near Wigan)

1) DMC Preston
2) Neil(Cornerspeed) should help you out because he is a top guy and always do his most to help.
