just what I am looking for

I have a brand new Ducati Leather Jacket along with new Dainese ST Torque pro out boots, however these prove a little too hot for California. So, in addition I have the Ducati/Dainese Flow Jacket, Dainese D1 Teflon Jeans, Dainese SCARPA SSC D-WP Boot with a Ducati DarkRider II helmet and Ducati Bluetooth intercom. Highly recommended for California.

Got a pair of these showing up tomorrow. Spidi WRS shoes.

Nice. Can something like this be worn to a track day?

Not sure , as I've never tracked any of my bikes. :( It is made for street riding , and to be comfortable while walking. ( No steel shank at the arch ). They have non-replaceable toe sliders , ankle shields. They lace up and have a velcro closure strap. Have rubber shifter pads on the top of the toes , and are perforated leather for riding on hot days. Also have a reflective strip on the back. Tried them on today , seem nice. Cost = $160.00 shipped from most shops. But after a few emails , I saved a few bucks and got mine for $137.00 shipped. They also make this mid-boot which goes for $230.00. Looks nice , but better for riding than walking. I wanted something that would be comfortable walking around in , and they say thats what mine are made for.

I like this boot, technical but still can go under jeans. I never considered Spidi before. Thanks for posting. I'm ordering a pair now.

I was within a few button pushes of ordering the Spidi boots that are similar to these, when I stalled and looked back at the forum. I didn't like the huge heel cup on the Spidis, so these are just right looks wise for me. I don't plan on walking any distance in them, so that won't be an issue. Won't be able to report on them for about a month, when I get back to the land of the free.

My selection for the New Year.

I am looking for a higher boot for winter street/track riding, that goes on the outside of leathers, Any suggestions?

Daytona boots for track but they're pricey. Best true protection hands down. Otherwise the Sidi Vortice. If you need waterproof, Sidi Vertigo Gore-tex.

daytona boots are the best IMHO, they've just gotten too expensive at around $650 for an entry level pair of evo sport boots.

Thanks! I had looked at rhe Dianese Torque pro also, as I need something that'srelatively comfortable for commuting as well. The Sidi looks more like a ski boot, and would be difficult to walk in?

I've got the dainese torque boots which are ok, but I've got to again give the nod to daytona, they're super to walk long distances in as well as riding. I'll probably suck it up next year and buy another pair of evos

I really like Dainese. I have both the Scarpa boots along with the Ducati Mesh jacket for really hot days. I also have the Dainese Torque Pro racing boots. I have an AGV lid. Like many I will get the AGV PISTA GT when it is released and DOT approved in the USA.

In early December, I am meeting with a couple of Dainese's tailors to have them custom size and design my leathers. Will probably end up going with some Delta Pro Perf' and slightly tweak them. They will be one-offs with a three month wait.

Which Daytona, and where do you purchase them? I have had trouble finding an online retailer with much selection. By Evo, you mean the Strada rainboot??

The EVO Security is the best protection hands down IME. They have a fiberglass/carbon brace on the inside and the outer is leather/Kevlar. Handmade in Germany and they're second to none in quality of construction. Their isn't a close second IMO. I've crashed in them at 100mph+ and they held up beautifully - very little abrasion on the outer and zero damage to the inner. All seams kept intact and absorbed the impact very well. And it wasn't just a slide, another bike crashed at 130mph and took out my front. I went over the handlebars, head over heels and tumbled quite a distance on the track and in the dirt. Broke my collarbone in 4 places and fractured my sacrum but zero issues to my leg or ankle which means they did their job. I can see where the boots hit the Tarmac and dragged and they're still completely wearable. They are a stiff boot though but once broken in I can walk around the pits for a distance with no discomfort. I believe the EVO Sports is a bit less stiff but I've never tried them so I can't say from personal experience. But as ZVEZ says, they are pretty expensive but just like all motorcycle gear, you hope you never have to see their true value but if the unfortunate happens its worth every penny and then some. I like many Dainese products but I've just seen too many Torque Outs and other models fail in crashes - seams blown out, buckling in spots that break bones, zippers fail, etc.

Call Helimot in Fremont, CA I believe they're the main US distributor. Helmut, the owner, is a great guy with great customer service. They're a very busy, small shop ran by husband/wife that makes custom race leathers onsite so be patient but they're great to deal with. Feel free to PM me if you got any other questions and I'm happy to refer you to the folks at Helimot as well.
Cheers!

I have to agree with the Dainese comments...had to replace various zippers and a friend of mine had a jacket zipper give out doing 130mph which was pretty scary
