Just got permission from DNA to release two early photos of the testing of the new heat shield.
Here I am with lead Ducati engineer Guillermo Rossinini testing the first water cooled prototype. If the coolant temp gets too high you just reach back and pour one of the water jugs over the heads and header. Worked like a charm, but hard to do while riding solo in traffic.
Here you see two Ducati engineers working on a later prototype that is likely to be similar to the one you will get at the dealer. In this configuration, an Italian gentleman of small stature will come in the box with the heat shield (hence the need for air holes in the box and a small plate of pasta). He will sit unobtrusively in front of you so as not to obstruct your field of view and when the coolant temp gets too high he will climb over you and pour one of the water jugs over the heads and header.
