Mototarta, do you have any pics of these dyno runs you were at? I would love to see all those bikes in one room if you do.

I was there at the magazine, one of the chief tester is a friend of mine. they have their own dyno, I saw the test in person, I've not the charts yet... they will be on the magazine in a few days and I'll link them up. But each bike has been tested two times and they controlled that the power was within 10% more or less from what the manufacturer declares. There were technician from each brand controlling the dyno test, so everything was pretty clear and no doubts at all. The test was made the same day, the same dyno so the differences from a bike to another is what we have to look at.

There at the Monza track test I've been impressed by the Aprilia... 20 hp less than Bmw but second in the lap times. For me Api is the real winner of the comparison.

You know, Ducati uses to dyno the engine apart from the bike, this is why they declare 195 hp at the crank. You wnow if you test the whole bike on the dyno the result is worse, obviously. But 169 rwhp means 185 at the crank, stock .... astonishing !!!

Excuse me for my english, don't know if you understand what I'm sayng.

:) I understand completely, thanks. I was in Afghanistan with the Italian army in the western part of that country. So I can understand your english just fine, even written! Although I do think that with just the slip-ons and a fueling re-map, that 9hp more is possible with the Panigale.

Looking forward to the links to the charts when they are available. Thanks again. :)

You're welcome ! I think I'll get the charts this week. As I told, for me it's not important to get 9 hp more at high revs...that Ducati technician in fact told me that the main advantage with the slips or complete cans system is the big improvement of the middle ranges. Motociclismo compared the dyno charts of the Pany vs the 1198 .... and the old model pulled out 20 hp more from 5000 to 7000 rpm... then at 8000 rpm the pany 'explodes'.... but it will be nice to get back those 20 ponies too ...

I ordered the Termi cans with mine, so I'm trying to justify the $1,800 extra! :) I also want the sound improvement. But I've read from the some of the guys on this forum that the sound difference between the stock cans and the Termis isn't as big as it was on the previous Ducati superbikes.

my understanding is that the valve is in the manifold section. Valves in the exhaust are there for sound, they will not make any significance to maximum power, yes there will be a small restriction with them in there but it would be less than 1bhp. Changing the manifolds will increase power but it will be from the pipes themselves not the valves that may it may not be in it

im sure it is for sound as it was on the 10 and 1198. There will be a kit to keep this open very soon. I applied this to our 1098. What a difference !! Love the new constant grunt.
