I was really hoping for a 1299 streetfighter that was rumored in September, but I guess this is it?

this makes more sense than a naked Pani, since they already have a good platform for the naked bike, plus it will take advantage of the update that makes in more streetable such as the variable valve timer, hope it looks good too

I wonder if it will have up/down qs and all the pani electronics. Like WC etc.. Very interesting..

I wonder what kind of engine it will use.. Testastretta? Superquadro? Or maybe something new?

It would make sense if it had the Testastretta DVT from the new Multistrada, since that engine exists and would bolt right in to the Monster 1200, and makes 160HP in Multistrada trim. I don't see them putting the Superquadro engine in a naked bike, but who knows.

Look at the picture...Its a testastretta....;)

As long as it has Race mode and 160hi I am good lol

i have to say. i am interested this bike for a every day bike. i was thinking of diavel, scrambler and now R!.

The Testastretta DVT works not really satisfying in the Multistrada. All measured values were worse than expected (European version). The "old" engine does a better job, accelerates faster, runs faster, has more pulling power. I like the Monster 1200S. A 1200 R with a "smoothened" engine with the same driving performance does not make sense. Perhaps with a more sportingly chassis and quickshifter so you can get over the missing increased performance. I would like a Monster 1299R...
