The 999 is a great bike also, does not have the same looks appeal as 916 or 1098/898 range, but it does grow on you, couple of pics below.

I hope history is kind to the 999. I've always thought the 999 was one of the most gorgeous bikes that Ducati ever made IMHO.

Fitting the remus twin pipes PCIII and 1-1/2 days on the rolling road doing a custom map for front and rear cylinders made a world of difference to the bike. much crisper response and power delivery.

All Ducati's are great in there own way, still get a huge buzz out of cruising around on the 916 although it is down on power compared to new bikes it can still hold it's own. I am treating the old girl to full QB-Carbon faring/tank etc: striped down at the moment, powder coating of wheels / frame and a re-build. will try and post some pics as it progresses.

congrats Mondo on the order of the 1199s Tricolore! i am thinking about which 1199 i want as well. i called the local dealer here to find out if they will have any of the three models at the International Motorcycle Show this weekend in Northern California. i'm dying to see the models up close. must feel awesome to put your order in

i currently have an 848 which i started riding on and an 1198 that i ride most often. i'm recovering from open heart surgery and am hoping to be back on the beautiful bikes in time for the 1199's arrival here in the states. i'll try and get some pics up of my bikes as well as some from the show this saturday.

Oh wow! Sounds like you're on the recovery side, so that's good to hear. Happy to have you here with us... looking forward to seeing some pics of your bikes when you get a chance.

Do they have wifi in the hospital? Does the doctor know you're on the 1199 forum posting?

Welcome. Loved the 999 from all angles except the front, but a gorgeous bike nonetheless.
