Hello to you all from rainy, snowy london,uk.
waiting for my new 1199S arrive at the start of march when the weather might get better.
I've got a beautiful 851 which will be parked right next to the new baby.
I've got a 6 day trip planed for easter to the south of Fance via a german autobann, just to see how fast the new baby will go. Then a couple of Swiss mountain passes and then to Italy. then a couple of days with my sister in Antibes near Nice.
I'll let you all know exactly what the trip was like on my return.
cheers, chris A.

Welcome Chris. You'll love the bike.

If you get a chance try to do the RN85 from Grenoble to Canne. It's my favourite road in the car and on the bike.

Hey Chris, congratulations on the new 1199S! Welcome to the forum. There a lot of good people here and great info. Shockingly, we all agree on everything here, just take a look at the "Do you carry while you ride" thread for instance. Just kidding, this really is a great forum.

I'm jealous of your upcoming road trip!

Welcome Chris.

Actually, while your waiting, have a look in the Motorcycle Talk sub-forum, as there are a few longstanding threads that could be enriched by some fresh 851 pics.

I'm deeply saddened by the fact that some of my early Ducs preceded digital cameras, so please feel free to contribute :)

N85 for sure....

Hi ya Kam, I did the N85 a few years ago on my 851 and yeah it a awsum rd. I think i'll be doing it again for sure.

If your heading through Switzerland I can highly recommend the Great St Bernard Pass and also the Stelvio Pass.

There's a lovely little hotel at the bottom of the Stelvio pass in Bormio.

Welcome from Glasgow! Hope you make it up north! Best roads in the country!

Welcome Chris, from south London. Sounds like a great trip you have planned, I took my 998s across europe to the mugello gp with a load of other bikers, down shifting and giving gas through the tunnels in switzerland / Italy sounds awsome with the termi's on. Enjoy the forum. AC

Thanks for the welcome guys.

thanks for the great welcome everybody.
Gizmo where are you in south London? I'm in anerley by penge and Beckenham!

Also does anybody have any insurance brokers that give a good deal. 4 years N/C and got a very secure lock up???

Welcome! Great choice on the new Pani. Now the only difficult part is the wait...wait...wait...till she arrives. After that its all about what bits to get.
