nobody talks about the v4s corse

I think it's a fantastic offer !! And for those who are saying there’s nothing special about this....there's nothing special about the Speciale either. In fact I think the Corse will affect the Speciale sales and value .

And No I’m not knocking anybody's preferences.

Well special is a subjective term. Even less than design or color scheme but still subjective.

One can argue that there is nothing special about a V4S over the V4. Corse over V4S and Speciale over Corse. But I beg to differ. Aside for perks like custom seats or limited editions, it really is a whole different ball game from each tier to the next in term of the overall package you get.

Considering all the perks of the speciale that really makes the buyer feel special (limited number, engine cast with the limited number, seat, seat cover, bike cover, carbons, Rizoma parts etc) you also get race akrapovic in the price.

I for one consider I got a sweet deal from the dealer for a Speciale with gold mag rims for 38500 Euro VAT included. I doubt I can match this with a Corse with the same level of perks and even impossible on some aspects.

In the end the Speciale was created to be at that time the pinnacle of the V4 lineup (till the V4 R) and at the same time to make ownership special while the Corse an upgraded V4 S with a race color scheme and a custom seat (correct me if I’m wrong). And this thing is reflected in the price premium over the “base” V4 S

As for the design I like both. I find the corse more aggressive and race-ier oriented and the Speciale more Italian and more glamorous.

Hey AndreiD, you forgot to mention the nice V4 engine model with the edition number on it for my desk, not bad!

I think Ducati are just going down the same well worn path for decades, a base model, an S model (usually main advantage is ohlins forks and shocks), a tri colour to enhance the Italian theme and ownership hence the Speciale, the Corse usually an S with a similar paint scheme to their then current race bike, and the R the road homogation bike for WSBK, and a race only RS version. So you have a wide choice.

What is happening now though is the race bike is having to keep conforming to the ever changing WSBK rules while the road versions can be designed purely for their road application, hence the 1100 engine, electronic suspension (banned in WSBK), etc.

i think it looks great and price seems fine, not really fair to compare to the speciale as it's $7k more.

the special is < the tricolre paint job back in 2012. the special now looks like the mv agusta. i agree with you

I like the looks of the Corse & own a Speciale. I am going to do track setup in either this livery or the FE one as I think both look great.

I would buy the standard S and add an extra set of fairings instead of paying extra for the Corse.

Also do you think the frame has a sticker over it or just blends better with that paint?

problem is if you add the fairings like i was thinking your tank color would be off so you would either have to paint/buy a new tank or have the fairings painted in a different red much like the anniversary which i think would look great.

You could wrap the tank like ducenzo has done.

I saw this at the Birmingham NEC this week. I did have thoughts of I should of waited for this, but in hindsight, no.

It's a matt finish which I'm not keen on. Plenty of blemishes on the finish and the tank was already starting to polish up at common contact points. It would be better in gloss, but as is it's not for me.
