Ohlins Shock Recall

But it has to be sent in, no? I got to drive starting the 15th with my bike. Not sure I'll get it in time.

I would offer to have it sent to me since I will be driving down that Friday, but there is no telling what the turn around time will be and if someone from AMS will have the opportunity to install it for you.

I would hate for it not to arrive by the 17th and then show up empty handed...

Just rushed down into the garage to check... Im good to go. Fingers crossed! For reference this is what the stamping will look like.

Ohlins TTX GP-TTX RT and TTX MKII produced from Nov. 9, 2013 to Feb. 20, 2015. Owners are advised to not ride their motorcycles as the shock may come apart!

If this relates to standard OEM, why are we not hearing from Ducati directly as with any other recall ?

Aftermarket Shocks only Boss man. If you have the OEM Ohlins you are not affected!

Ok thanks.

I got confused by this sentence in your post

According to Ohlins the Ducati 1198, 1199 and 899 shocks were affected. Call them to verify your shock is or isn't affected.

Thats a relief. Thanks for clarifying. Cheers.

We can perform the recall repair at Ducati Omaha as well. The process is to disassemble the shock, remove the piston retaining nut, clean everything, reinstall the nut and retorque it, reassemble the shock, fill with fluid using Ohlins vacuum bleeding unit, and then recharge with Nitrogen. There are only a handful of shops that have the vacuum bleeder, and those are the only shops that can "properly" service a TTX shock or fork.

If you would like us to do it, you can ship the shock to us at:

Ducati Omaha
15025 Industrial Road
Omaha, NE 68144
402-408-4400

Include a note with your name and contact information, and we will contact you when we receive the shock. We will turn it around and ship it back out in 1 business day, and we will cover the return shipping cost. Make sure you have verified that your shock serial number is in the range covered by the recall before you send it also!

I have DU 3400 136744 - I guess the extra zero on the first number counts? And will Ohlins pay a shop to remove/re install for the work, or do we have to send in ourself?

Ohlins will pay for remove/reinstall 1.5 hours labor total including the shock rebuild.
