Ohlins TTX series

Help Support Ducati Forum:

The V4R OEM is the Ohlins NPX25/30 gas pressurized fork.

FKR 129 is a gas pressurized cartridge kit to install in an OEM fork. I think this would be an upgrade for V4S owners, especially on bikes older than 2022 without gas pressurized forks, who were actually fast track riders but otherwise stuck on a V4S.

The gas cylinder in the OEM fork is visible when looking at the fork bottom. It appears as a cylinder molded into the fork bottom perpendicular to the axel centerline.

I think to install the gas pressurized cartridge kit, you block off the passage in the OEM gas pressurized fork. But, I don't think one would put a gas pressurized cartridge in OEM gas pressurized fork.

Oh, I thought the ‘23 R were spring pressurized for some reason.

Please excuse my matter of facting lol.

I can't speak on performance, as I'm slower than a milk float! but when I used Bitubo on my Kawasaki, the spares backup and servicing quality by the importer was rubbish. Ohlins are a known quantity, many different agents, and spares very readily available.

In some cases the supply of Öhlins for complete items and spares can be a bit slow. That said the Öhlins service guy that supports the race series in the UK is very knowledgeable and imparts that knowledge too plus seems to carry the stuff that's required..👋

OEM ohlins is really good
FKR + DU468 is better
case closed

Far from closed if its just forum recommendations, please provide the spring rate if available. Wouldn't the 468s be installed as OEM if they were superior?

What are you installing in lieu of the 468 you have for sale?

wtf has spring rate got to do with anyone other than the person they are spec for.....
468 isn't installed as std because its too expensive, Its better to go with a lookalikey for the showroom.

I only ride on RSP40

of course you do..

The 468 is merely an upgrade of the 466 that was available for the x99 bikes. Sure updated for the yearly market and to cater the V4 but not significantly better than OEM.

The note* for adjustment is also interesting as it raises the V4R to the stock height of V4B and V4S - 32.9 compared to 32.7, so raising your CG automatically, before any adjustments to properly level the bike with Akra installed as mentioned in 2023 manual. You're now allowed only 2mm of raise adjustment of the advertised 4mm.

Free spring travel and stroke are shorter compared to 466, and the spring rate and preload is slightly harder (95 compared to 90) which is why the hand valve is included as the dynamic is rougher, but can be "adjusted" to feel softer. Be sure to hold your pinky out while you reach down to finesse the so critical adjuster over the S's - EC shock or the R's mech. shock absorber. Honestly for track use the 466 is more suited to the V4 as you have more height adjustment available, you would just need to find the sweet spot and use tools for the adjustments rather the quick hand valve on 468.

Now this RSP40 @craig bush blessed the thread with, we see it's all mechanical, noticeably machined from billet, 40mm single piston, massive locking pneumatic collar for the pre-load, TiN treated shaft, with a potentiometer...this is worth removing the OEM and spending $7k on. The upgrade probably includes the small necessities of the internals/fluid path similar to the 466/468 upgrade or the SL titanium TTX version I would assume

What with those magnificent dog bones and stacks of washers? Please do tell what you've moved on to since then....

Adjustable tie rods? ... well the guy using them is about to win a national championship next week end.

Washers? nah you are confusing me with someone else.

why tell you? you won't need it on your ride down to Maccy D.
