I had FKR carts put in FGRT 214 forks, it takes swapping a lot of spacers (some custom), longer shafts and finessing the caps but here was the spec

FORK MODEL = FGRT214
SPRING Rate = 10.0
Preload = 6T
Oil volume = 200mm
Setting = C103/R104
Comp = 12
Rebound = 12
This was a complete FKR custom build.
750mm long (stock 740mm)
130mm stroke (stock 120mm)
Base kit needed longer shafts
454mm (stock were 444mm)
Internal spacers = 6mm
External spacers = 28mm
Preload spacers (custom)
Total length = 86mm
FKR external housing caps were swapped with the FGRT214 caps and preload adjusters / damping adjusters swapped

Nice!

I wish they offered FKR complete forks.

That sounds like a nightmare

I researched my FGRT and the possibility of putting the FKR cartridges in. This isn't a straight forward operations you have alluded to Hence we went down the stroke and shim stack route...

I'm not here to snapchat with you, please talk trash on my CBE housing/dirty intake valve thread with @SuperDomestique plenty of hardware pictures there that's what I've been busy with
trouble is that involves all sorts of change to yokes spindles..... on and on... and the small matter of the cost of them

And the "small matter of cost" is exactly my point to stay with OEM ohlins. Are those spec'd from MotoGP too?

Well there are Universal FGR250s and then there are FGR 252 for R1 that work with OEM triples, this has been meant to be coming for ducati as well it jsut hasn't happened yet

What are the difference between the 250s and the 252? The same casing or are we fitting different dynamics for a different bike?

This behind the curtain info must be the 2024/25 suspension updates that was asked about earlier...I wonder where that was sourced from

interesting ... do they work with the ducati spindle spacer etc or is the R1 one the same diameter ?

DU468 is the best shock you can buy for he V4R, RSP40 is for a sbk - there is absolutely no reason to run one on a V4R that isn't a V4RS.
You're point here is invalid because look at the extent you go through to custom build front forks that aren't designed for a Ducati. It does make sense to fit an RSP40 on a V4R or SBK, they're both track bikes. The 468 is just an upgraded 466, nothing to do with MotoGP or "only for twin panigales". I said the same thing with them being for the x99 bikes, but the 468 caters to the V4 market. The 46x shocks are not better than OEM, its in the Ohlins specs - so I could assume you have trouble reading numbers if those are ignored. But you don't since you have the time to build custom forks, so it's your denial of not reading the spec sheets provided from Ohlins.

DU466 is made for twin panigales and mounts to the side of the bike and has nothing to do with this conversation at all. @Astral11 is jsut googling things and has zero frame of reference of what they are talking about
It seems you're still busy trying to fit R1 shocks to a V4? You must be lost in the depths of google..

Has anyone found something to use that's different from Ohlins Red Grease? Goes for $60 for 100 gram 🤔 What is it exactly?

Gearing up to rebuild the FKR forks

From what I’ve heard from Ohlins techs, always use Ohlins consumables on Ohlins.

Here’s a jar for $20

I saw that PS site which made me skeptical of their price compared to Ohlins website. I'd like to pay that price but just wasn't sure how they're selling 60g for $20 but 100g is $60 from Ohlins. There's not a profit with those numbers lol

I've got 1309 but the grease is the last fluid to buy. OEM bushings and seals on the way. I was considering going to a stiffer/higher spring but I think the V4R comes with 9.5 installed?

This thread is interesting. Id like to see
More info on the internal specs and such of these various shocks. Ive got a SFV4 base that ive ridden with bitubo, DU 468 and soon to try a DU 966. The bitubo has been pretty good but the 966 came up and I couldnt say no. Just sorta hope its got something over the 468 other than looks and weight.

Ohlins USA only list the 468 for the V4, the 966 appears to be for an Indian1200.
