When you change the oil and reset the service interval on the bike how many miles does it say between services. I just had my bike at fast by ferraci and I could swear it was the same number.

I'm talking about the green oil thing that comes up on the dash when its starting up usually says like 6300 or something.

Yeah... Brought my S into Cross Country, paid the $80 fu*king dollars for them to do the oil change labor (i provided all parts) and the scumbags didn't even reset the computer.

unbelievable.

7500.... if I recall correctly....

correctomundo.

Only reason I paid to have them do the 7500 mile oil change was to have records at the required intervals. when i do my mid cycle 3000 mile oil change i do those all by my big self.

I really couldn't believe those a-holes gave me back my bike with the light still on. just another reason to go elsewhere.

there ya go vanquisher- theres ANOTHER story of how CC service department loves to screw us. disclaimer- sales department are all great people though. no complaints about them!

Well that concerns me because Fast By Ferraci did my service while it was there getting the fuel level sensor replaced. They obviously did not reset it because it says 6300 and I'm now even questioning if they even did the work at all.

Sigh man you can't trust any of these ....... places, which is why I usually do the first service for warranty and then do it myself moving forward. Figured since it was there and I was waiting for it, I could have it done. Dealers can get .......

Check the sight glass. You should be able to tell if it's brand new oil or not.

Very cool and trustworthy tech at my dealer told and showed me that even if he resets the oil indicator with the dds, it wont reset unless it shows less than 1500km (Canada) on your bike's TFT screen. He reseted it with the dds in front of me with 5000km until oil change showing on the bike and like he said, bike did not allowed him to...

Anyway, I know when to change my oil, dont need the bike telling me!

Interesting. Perhaps that is the case then and I was quick to pass some judgement. Since the dealer picked the bike up and then dropped it off at my house i'm sure the oil must look new lol. I'll check it.

I ride the thing so infrequently I usually only change it once a year.

They really suck dude, it just infuriates me that for my HP4 either them or the other option is to ride the bike into ....... bmw in manhatten which I don't want to do. I called manhatten BMW and they wanted 300 bucks round trip to bring the bike back and forth. I'm about the buy the GS-911 tool and change the oil myself and take the limter off.

I guess since CC is basically one of the only game in town now with Trebour shutting down they feel that can .... people left and right. Sad.

The GS-911 is a great investment. After being ..... $300 for the first service (oil change and look over the bike) at the BMW dealer, I bought one. Needless to say I haven't been back. Change your own oil and reset the service indicator yourself.
