Oil Filter 899 vs 1199 *Important*

I like both of them. Can't believe what Ducati charges for this little piece.

I need to go back and get my o-ring still. Gonna do Amsoil instead of Motul. Guess Mobil1 would also work.

Looking at 20-50w.
 
Is this one more closely aligned with the older filter or newer filter?

I want to order a few for my 899 and 1199 but I want to get the one that works best for both.

click on the "Cross reference" link on the page, and you see it's for the Old discontinued filter....

but interestingly, the 899 is listed on the application list....

but at $10, can't hurt to get one and see if it's different. From Jarel's answer the only difference appears to be the tightness of the ring. May want to see if they're as tight or not.
 
btw, I just did the change with the K&N filter. The website states the K&N is the replacement for the old part number. My pani already had the NEW part # oil filter on it, and they did appear to identical. I couldn't find my caliper to measure the grommet hole size, but they are the same style/design.
Since I was unsure of the size, I simply swapped out the rubber grommets on the two...simple as pi
