Motul 300V 15w-50 in mine as well. Only thing that goes in it. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd put it in my GT3RS where I change the oil/filter, and have it analyzed, every 3000 miles. Besides, the damn thing holds nearly 10 quarts, and being so thick, the Motul would have the lifters making all sorts of racket on start up. Castrol Syntec seems to do just fine in the RS. The Pani gets the good stuff.

Shell seems hard to find in the USA. I'm not sure what to do. Dealer uses Shell. I want to change at the half way point in miles, but I don't want to mix and match oil. I do get free service (scheduled) for 2 years. My preference would be Mobil1.

Chris

Hard to find? You can't get it in the states. I'd use it if it was. now its Castrol but might switch to Motul

Sounds like a lot of people like the Motul 300V. I'm thinking about going that route. Is anyone using Mobil 1 10-40 synthetic? If so, what do you think?

The modern Mobil1 is not the same wonderful oil of days gone by. It has significantly less zinc than before (an anti-wear component, but hard on cats). The real oil geeks are kind of down on the modern Mobil1. Specialty oils like Motul 300V, Redline, and a few others have far better anti wear components, but tend to be harder on the catalytic converters. Since many of us eliminate the cats (for racing purposes only of course), this is a non-issue.

Thanks for the information HarmonyJim. I think I'll go with the Motul 300V 15w50. It sounds like pretty good oil.

Extra Virgin or ???

Mine runs fine on quality Italian Olive Oil.........
