Maybe they need to strengthen, seal that connector better. I'd put dielectric grease on that connector prior to reassembling. Connector technology is readily available to prevent these craziness. Even GM electrical connectors are extremely resistant these days with their triple silicone seals. I don't understand why skimp on these critical parts?
