So....the question is how much are you paying for:

1) The bike (I think this will be MSRP for most of us...but maybe not);

2) Freight (if any); and

3) Dealer Prep Fees (if any).

I'm not going to sweat a few hundred dollars of freight or setup when the real rape comes in the form of CA State Tax and DMV fees.

To clarify to the whiny folk who want a breakdown:

$23995 for the bike (S w/ ABS)
$495 freight
$500 setup
$2230 TTL (Tax, Title, License)

McLaren - You sound dumb enough to buy a TV that's listed for $1,995 and then at the checkout pay $1,995 + $140 because the store tells you "well we had to get the TV here somehow so you'll have to pay for shipping as well"...or do the TV's at "your" store just magically appear?

Come on...really? If you call common sense "whiny" then you're clearly out of touch. FYI, I work for one of the largest car dealerships in the States and "personally" sold over 250 cars last year and know little bit about selling, shipping, ordering, and prepping cars...

Nice car garage by the way ;)

Ha! I had a sneaking suspicion you were a dealer or salesperson! Well, thanks for the insight then!

In Australia they are ( all in aud)
1199 - $26,500
1199s - $32,500
Tri - $42,500

If u bought them from Fraser (arrogant bastards) they don't move on price. I say that cause I the way they treat their customers and they were like that back in the days of 1198.

the ride away on the base is 29k aus. but there is no other option and they know it

S w/ ABS I paid 26k. That is the OTD price and includes all fees, handling, and taxes. Not a great deal but this is a brand new bike in high demand so I did not expect much.

$24500 for the base with ABS in Canada.

Still have to pay another $2000 for insurance for a year too.

$22k OTD for a base w/o ABS in AB, Canada.

($1k insurance for the year, full coverage, mid-20s, one ticket five years ago + one claim around that time as well.)

Tricolore

No shipping no set up charges. Discount on accessories and free install. Discount off MSRP, but sworn to secrecy by sales manager (who has been a riding buddy for about a decade).

I negotiate price on virtually all large purchases. What is the point of paying more than is necessary?
