I'd like to meet the person who is gonna rock up at Starbucks on one of these, because I'd like to race in his or her, official race team... Comment in the add is u need to be an official registered race team...

And most domestic series will not run a bike with a starting point of 180k... Nice bike tho... Don't ya love marketing...

Makes the R look like great value...

As for the Veyron, i believe VW are not too popular in the US so its no wonder people don't know what it is... Heheheheheheh Veyron indeed.. Have the same problem with my Moslar MT900SGT, its often mistaken for a MT900S which is quite frustrating

I hate when that happens!

Seriously there are so many cashed up owners on this forum I actually wonder whether Veyron comments are even a joke ;)

of course it costs that much!

What could possibly justify $150,000 more than an R????

the front end already costs

FGR300 wsbk: 18K
triples: 3K
calipers GPRR : 4K if they are gp spec : 7K
masterscylinders: 4K
rotors 1,5 k
wheels and axle 4,5K

and then electronics: min 25K
the RS tank and underlying airbox : 7K
exhaust: 8K

Yup, and factor in installation at dealer prices and this thing is a bargain.

There are more Veyron's going through Mulholland canyon here in Southern Cal than I see 1199 Panigales or S100RR combined. It's the "Status" car here, just about every movie star/producer/director or sports player have one. I thought they were rare and only made a few per year I guess not. I don't see the Lexus LFA though. Veyrons, Ferrari, Lamborghini are a dime a dozen around here along with those damn VW bugs, Jetta, Passats fill the freeways not to mention those little pesky kids with their souped up Golf GTi always want to race me while I'm on my 1199. I should have posted that in the stupid comment thread.

I don't know which drivers are more dangerous those VW bugs or the Prius Drivers. I have to give it to the Prius drivers.

Hey, my wife and one of my daughters drive bugs, which are actually 1/2 Lambos :D

PS Not defending, just mentioning! ;)

Agreed.

I am actually a member of the CHP 11-99 foundation in California, yes, "that" club. You have to have a clean license a 'decent' car to get in and are usually invited by a couple of other members. Fellow members have every type of high end exotic car. Owners therein, go to extreme lengths to modify the heck out of the highest end cars, many have 7+ exotics. I know one guy who hides three cars in underground garages in SF due to the stress from his wife. They are a great and easy going bunch of people whom donate generously to charity, admire each other cars and demonstrate a high degree of maturity. The owners have an amazing knowledge of their vehicles.

Membership of the CHP 11-99 is a privilege and thus members rarely blast down the highway, as to do so means expulsion. Regardless of people's thoughts about the CHP, due to some drivers inherent 'target fixation' way too many officers get wiped out on the road and leave behind children that can not get a decent education. We get together do charity runs, etc. Kids go in the cars, crawl all over them, etc.

A Veyron with a CHP 11-99 is a very high-end thing. My friend has an Lexus LFA (first one available in the USA) and it is an amazing vehicle.

CHP 11-99 members also love the 1199.

Here are a couple of runs ..

Clearly a touchy subject... I'd much rather be putting around on a 1965 Manx norton of which I have a pair than looking at my 500k supercar depreciating... Lamborghini, Veyron, or any other exotic looses money... And make the 1199 look like a bargain...

A 458 in Australia costs a cool 500k of which 220 is tax... If uve got it, flaunt it...

Tom Cruise will get one for sure...hah!

If I had that kind of money like Cruise, I would for ..... and giggle.

??

"you must be an accredited race team to buy one."

"Accredited"..please.. You can get around anything by kissing a few babies, shaking some hands and greasing a few palms. It probably won't see third gear though since Starbucks isn't far enough away that I need to get on the highway.

Tell that to Bill Gates, he got around having a Euro only Porsche 959 by putting it in a custom-free warehouse in CA. Enough money, anything is possible.

Respectfully, I understand where your coming from.

The folks that are passionate about exotic cars don't actually care about the cost of the depreciation it is simply not a factor. Value & quality for money are far more important. It took taking a Lambo for hard drive (redline) for me to truly appreciate their passion for Cars.

Car ownership is nothing compared to boats, which is nothing compared to planes and on and on. Each to their own.

Personally, I get more gratification from owning a decent sized payroll and supporting families then I have ever or ever will from any materialistic object. Personally, it is not about how many toys, etc CaliDuc owns, it is how many other people CaliDuc can provide employment for and enable to spend money how they wish.

1965 Manx Norton ? and you have two of them - you are indeed a very lucky soul.

Cali.... You changed your Avatar??? I prefer your old one... :)
