A 458 in Australia costs a cool 500k of which 220 is tax... If uve got it, flaunt it...
Respectfully, I understand where your coming from.

The folks that are passionate about exotic cars don't actually care about the cost of the depreciation it is simply not a factor. Value & quality for money are far more important. It took taking a Lambo for hard drive (redline) for me to truly appreciate their passion for Cars.
Car ownership is nothing compared to boats, which is nothing compared to planes and on and on. Each to their own.
Personally, I get more gratification from owning a decent sized payroll and supporting families then I have ever or ever will from any materialistic object. Personally, it is not about how many toys, etc CaliDuc owns, it is how many other people CaliDuc can provide employment for and enable to spend money how they wish.
1965 Manx Norton ? and you have two of them - you are indeed a very lucky soul.""
Firstly, I am personally appreciative by the sentiment of your e.amil, far too many people who have wealth have no idea what its is actually for.. It's been a life long journey for me to share wealth and touch those more unfortunate than I am... Will always be so...
As for my pair, a 350 and 500 matching numbers ex Peter Daw set of race bikes both raced at the IOM, I consider my self very fortunate... Sold to me by his widow... Lovingly restored... It's a matter of history and each of us have something that makes us tick...
As for cars I will share one experience with u...
Before i moved to Australia I used to own a very successful engineering business in the UK that was intimately involved with Lotus... I owned a number of Esprits... Had a V8 shortly after they were released... One winter evening on a Friday my then girlfriend and I went to the local fish and chip shop for some dinner... The owner had a son aged 12 who was mentally handicapped but loved cars... Gave his dad the keys and watched them spend 30 minutes driving around the block... Touched them for ever... Such a simple act but one that put a smile on both their faces...
Did the same at the 2010 Australian moto gp races, we ran in the superbike support class, on the Friday the local schools bring their kids round for a chance to meet the riders... We let them sit on our bikes and take photos, the only SBK team to do that... Cost us nothing but a little of our time... Simple really...
Anyway I'm glad to see others take wealth as its supposed to be...
Respect!
