Panigale Fault RECORD

i know we all joke around about what version breaks 2012 2013 white red tricolore and soon to be R

but i notice there isn't a post about this and hope that one of the mods will make it a STICKY

idea is to post ANY real mechanical faults. please nothing to do with loose bolts as that can be maintain by user. stuff that have been called for warranty issues or major.
The benefit of this is that owners like us can keep a lookout of things that can potentially go wrong. hope to keep this as 1 major Update page on things that can go wrong.

I think ill start with some i notice the past year that other user have had.

-Main bottom Swingarm bolt loose (near rearsets)
-Burnt fairing underneath the Exhaust pipe (RHS)
-Soft paint (2012 issue i believe as i havnt heard much more goin into 2013)
-Smoking Exhaust (Sealed Valves which may take time)

I am not a fan of this, as a nooby coming in here, will see this, and will think it has nothing but problems. I have had none.

And it dosen't help anyone.

You forgot heat. There's just too much heat. Oh yeah, and the rear cowl comes flying off, the brake and clutch fluid turns black, the stock mirrors suck, gas mileage sucks, the stock pegs suck, the stock seat is made of teflon, the bike won't start, low RPM fueling sucks... And then there's the heat. ...., why didn't I get a Yamaha.

I agree this should be a sticky, just on a different forum.

I thought you didn't want loose bolts?

For it to be a real mechanical fault shouldn't it have to be consistent across all bikes, or at least a vast majority of them? My bike has had none of the problems listed. Just because one guy had a loose bolt or a few bikes smoked a couple times doesn't make it a common issue.

Let's start a list of things we like about the bike. That'll be more universal. I'll start.

It's ....... fast.

its more a shaft and its very important cause from memory
2 cases, 1 was the bike fell into 2 parts
other was the guy was lucky and spotted it before the rear swingarm could fall off.

Mine makes me wanna go ride everyday....really an awful problem.

Right now I'm trying to come up with something to weasel out of the traditional Easter Dinner with the inlaws to go riding.

Fork Seal Leak
Dash Fault
Horizontal and Vertical Valve Cover Seal Leaks
Fork DES Harness Boot Dry Rot

Also had spare bolt come out of oil pan with oil on first service.

I don't have much respect for Ducati QC/QA.

So the idea here is to have a thread that summarizes all the other problem threads we've had since the bike was released? Most of the things people ..... about have been fixed, or will have a fix available. There's no point in rehashing one off problems and recall issues that have been handled.

I wish we did have mods so they could just delete this pointless thread. Along with all the threads about the heat.
