Trauma, are you in the dog house or something? Your bitching is starting to get ....... annoying. Unlike many of you, I put on around 500-600 miles weekly when the weather permits. When it's a form of art and you never use it, no wonder. Nothing usually breaks on its own.

Oalvarez, the beauty of the internet is you're free to leave. There is a lounge section, and thread bombing reposts is a great way to kill it. You're obviously guilty of OT commenting as well here in this very thread.

It's comments like yours that make this portal what it is.

This thread was over a long time ago, don't try and pin its demise on me.

If there was proper moderation here the Lounge section is where many off topic, non-1199 related threads would be moved to. Put garbage in, get garbage out.

This is a forum for bikes, not people - impossible request, but if all comments were limited to the bikes, and not at the riders, everyone would get along.

You're right, how many times have I helped another member or contributed something for others. I don't NEED to list them, give me ....... break. On top of your smug comment, I've still offered help in every one of your threads. Due to the fact most people pamper their bikes, they haven't had as much experience to offer others help; there are only a handle of them here. In fact, most of the threads here are people asking other's for opinions on something they ought to do their own research on.

Trans, your two comments above (to Trauma and myself) aren't smug?

When did I ask you to list anything?

I'm a long standing and contributing member at other portals (Ducati.MS and ADVrider to name a couple) and am trying to be one here.

They're not smug, irritated. I don't know how you can be mad about worthless posts and .... on this guy's thread, that's all. Complaining about the complaining, it's just as bad. I see this damn heat/no heat issue in every damn thread, among others.

:)I just want to let all know that I appreciate everyones comments. i am a 40 year rider but this is my 1st DUC so i learn alot from you. Sometimes I laugh and sometimes I'm pissed but I would miss it if you all were not you all.:)

I don't see what the problem is with this thread. I am a prospective buyer, and a thread like this is exactly what I'm looking for. I want a quick summary of all the problems that have popped up. I'd like to know what I'm getting involved with if I were to buy a new bike or a used bike. If there's something that catches my eye, I'll research it further to see how serious or not it is.

Most every other forum centred around a bike or car that I've participated in (and that's been a lot) have had a thread like this. Often it forms the basis for a mechanical diagnostics/help FAQ.

And I've got to say, the problems popping up for the 1199 look pretty tame. No one is talking about blown engines, cracked cylinder heads, or grenaded transmissions. The few dashes with the melted cases is a little concerning, but nothing else I wouldn't be willing to live with.

I don't think you guys need to hide this collected information from anyone.

Trans, i think that i was very clear in my comments and I won't let you say that I'm "sh&$;ing on this guy's thread."

I'm not complaining about anything but the lack of moderation/mis-placed threads and ridiculousness that occurs in so many other threads here.

I want success for this site.

You already missed the whole moderator train. We asked Duc to get busy on it, and he declined. Make of it that you will.

It must be the time of the month for everyone.:D

This forum is pretty active and I appreciate all the info.

I will have to say, I was little worried when I was buying first year model but I cant complain too much.. Things I had issues with My dealer or Ducati resolved it to 100% satisfaction. This is my first Ducati and I am loving the experience and loving to ride the bike like it should be.

Almost 3,000 miles now. I had 2 bikes so its not has high but I ride it every weekend and as much as I can.

I thought about getting a another bike like BMW HP4, but not sure if I will get same satisfaction as Ducati have been thus far.

I would fight you all in real person. On the forums however, I love every one of you.

No huge problems here! But I haven't started the bike since the fall, we'll see what happens tomorrow :D

So far so fine for me and my '12 Pani (it's early still), I've owned a bunch of Ducatis and first year models at that, the '10 Multistrada being the worst from many owner's perspective. At some point, if the manufacturer gets enough little things wrong they're bound to get many things right thereafter. Like another poster mentioned, it's the quality control that I question, items such as burned lower right hand fairings should really never be.

sheesh guys, I'm away for the day at work and look what happens! :)

FYI I'm at 4k miles with no problems (except the green loctite shift pedal).

yep, the tech at my shop was skeptical when I told him I absolutely could not free up the adjuster, he spent the next two hours or so until he finally got it freed up, it had a TON of green loctite in the threads (and this is a thread that's supposed to be adjustable! :)

They used green?

Yes, this isn't necessarily a fault, but I have had issues with their loc-tite policies.

The most annoying one's are when the bolt is loctited into a stud bolt and it backs them both out with no room to get a wrench in there and prevent this. This happened on the middle radiator mount bolts and the rear brake res and wire guide cover. The wire guide cover actually snapped because of this, I fixed it with my plastic epoxy, but I'm looking for an OE or CF one. The parts manual does NOT list the part number, go figure.
