Panigale ownership; what has your experience been like?

I enjoy seeing in the garage :D. Yes I voiced my troubles in one of the threads but EuroCycles have been more than wonderful about standing behind their bikes. Right now I am waiting on a new dashboard and a new left fairing (paint creased). Fueling is total crap but I will square that away with a dyno tune of some sort, still can't make up my mind on what tuning device i will go with. It is a brilliant bike in the end of the day and it is growing more and more on me :D

Spoke to a young man today who has owned a Pani S for a short while, he happens to be selling his. He is one who cannot stand the heat factor nor the poor fueling, he even went as far as purchasing a full Termi kit in hopes of improving the aforementioned. The bike is not to his liking, he simply prefers the in-line bikes.

I appreciated his candor and being honest with me. Different strokes, but it's always good to hear the other side of a story.

Ok, here are the actions required to replicate my failure:

Testing Method:
Manipulation of the UP button and right blinker performed every 10 minutes. Increased frequency to every minute after riding 30minutes in stop and go traffic.

Environmental: 80F

Time to first failure: 33 minutes

Failure mode: No right blinker and "up" button fails to function. Horn remained functional

Reset Method: Power Cycle still resulted in failure.

Power Cycle and Retest time until failure eliminated ≈3 minutes

Time required to replicate failure after 1st occurrence: ≈3 minutes

Your situation may differ

Lads, quit creating yourselves headaches and just take it for a warrantly claim, it is a well known issue.

Oh believe me, I am, castor. This will be the 10th claim against Ducati for just the issues with my bike.
This data post provides a test platform. Ducati should have recalled this by now because as you stated "this is a well known issue". Why hasn't Ducati done anything about it? We all know why! Because it will cost them an arm and a leg. So everyone should be testing their bike. That is what my data is for....Testing. Each member should see if you have the issue. If so, make the claim. Nothing more, nothing less. Hopefully you see that angle and not just restating what we all know. That is why I always look for the methods others have used in their failure analysis but I am finding most are not very methodical in troubleshooting.

I hate it... I hate all Ducs....have to walk bent over after I get off of them from the wood I'm sporting!!

For me it has been pretty much like any other bike I have owned. A few initial issues surrounding recalls but that is really not all that unusual despite what others seem to expect. I would say that the only real thing that is different about owning the Panigale is that there is a much great sense of pride in ownership. Also, not seeing one at every intersection is nice too. It is high profile, so prepare for people to stare and point and such.

As far as the riding experience, I find it quite positive overall. I like the pull of the engine and it really is fierce from 8K to redline. It handles nicely, the brakes are the best I have ever experienced. Good feel and very confidence inspiring. Quite powerful when needed yet unintimidating for the most part. The suspension is a bit harsh but settles in after a few thousand miles. The seat has to go. Just complete junk. The problem for me is not so much the padding or shape but the material. Might as well be sitting on a greased cookie sheet. The pegs also could be improved. The heat has not been an issue for me despite living in Arizona. Everything is hot out here. Temps, sidewalks, pool water, women and the attitudes. So I'm probably just immune to it.

Overall, I am pleased with the bike and glad I bought it and thankful I have the means to do so. I say, go for it. If you are not happy you can always sell it, it's not like getting married or having kids where you are committed. Don't over-think the whole things. Put on your Nikes and "just do it"! Odds lean heavily you will be glad you did.

sorry for dragging up an old past, ! however did you get your problems fixed Marvic, in particular the vertical oil leak ! mine has just started to seep from the vertical pot on the rocker cover seal.....leaing oil onto the heatshield and hugger ! not good....add the starter motor failure and the suspect clutch and I am also not happy lol !!
