Thanks fellas. It’s been fun experiencing these different bikes.

Different Manufacturer’s have different philosophies and approaches but I’m realizing there are so many effective ways to bring out the joy of riding.

Sometimes it’s pulling a massive power wheelie at high speed. Other times it’s a leisurely ride or cruise through town. Each bike has its strengths and weaknesses but as long as it has two wheels and throttle to twist it’s a guaranteed good time whatever you ride.

Hope everyone is having a Happy Thanksgiving!

Kevin

Latest addition to the stable...

Fell in love with this bike the first time I saw pics.

The sound is other worldly with the megaphone exhaust installed. Makes the Desmo sound outright tame in comparison.

It's an event to ride. Rough and raw as it should be and puts hair on the chest with every mile. #143 out of 250 worldwide. Bought brand new so still breaking her in.

Happy Thanksgiving guys!!

Kevin

What a beautiful racer. Congrats!

Is that the comfort seat you have on there? :D

Tardy updating this thread for some recent additions.

Took the RK out for a long ride today. Fun bike despite being almost 30 years old.

Cheers fellas!

What year and size is that old Suzuki?
I don’t like the looks of the new ones, but the old air cooled ones are still sweet.

Edit: Stupid me , I forgot to look at your bike list first :)

Haha! Yeah the older stuff I think has aged well. This is a 750RK (or RR). They only made 500 worldwide in 1989 and to my knowledge none came here to the US from the factory. Some have found there way to our shores over the years, this being one of them.

BTW: I hope you're enjoying your new toy. The HP4 Race is so tempting, but unfortunately I don't have a track near me.

So which one's your fav?

Now that is a really tough question, especially given it's such an eclectic bunch.

Let me take my best shot at answering:

I love the RC30. it's such a small, nimble bike with just the right amount of power. Transmission is sublime and still plenty of grunt. the Ergos are perfect and it's got great racing pedigree. I love the looks too after all these years.

The 888 fits a similar bill as the Honda but approaches it from a very different way. Sound is amazing and I love the design and again the power isn't overwhelming but just right.

As far as the newer stuff...The FE with race exhaust and SL wheels has so much character and is an absolute beast. It's ferocious in the best way. The new v4 is seductive in its own right because it makes you feel like a hero and enables mortals like me to explore new levels of speed. It's really, really good!

The Desmo could be my favorite, but just doesn't get enough seat time. It's clearly a special bike, but I'm candidly not well enough acquainted with it to know. (note to self: need to change this!!)

That brings me last to the 998R. If i had to pick one bike I would have to say this one is my favorite. It is such an amazing ride. it is so well balanced, incredible power, amazing soundtrack and sooooo smooth to ride. Looks similar to the SPS, but is so much more refined and is the pinnacle of this era for Ducati.

Each one of my bikes I picked up because I personally loved something about them and each shines in certain categories and some in many.

But there you have it. 998R it is!

But I reserve the right to change this opinion! :D

I would love one!!! The quest never ends. Unfortunately garage space does! :D

I am not sure if you and V10LEE are personally acquainted but it would be fantastic to combine your stables if circumstances can be adjusted.
Fabulous collection.
