Panigale Racing Throttle Spacer Kit

Thanks for posting this LC; I've hated the sloppy throttle ever since I got my bike. However, after getting some to install, I of course ran into the typical glitch one tends to encounter when working on a Duc. Need for a tool you don't have... ;) What size driver do you need for the two Tri-wing screws inside the throttle housing? Seems I need to round up a driver that I'll never use for anything else so I can install the darned lugs...

I just used a very small flat tip carefully, they are not in there by much.

I am still looking for the 3 blade driver itself.

I have had the spacers installed for over 300 miles now. I love the connected feeling this brings to the free play of the stock throttle tube.

Thanks! Found a mixed set of anti-tamper bits at my local Autozone. Now to tampering...

I performed this modification with the help of RapidBike USA on Saturday. Went to the track today and man I like it. Makes it easier to blip the throttle on down shift. Had to get use to the instant on of the throttle. Overall, a great mod.

Does make the blip much better.

I bought the Ducati Omaha kit. Its well thought out but I can't help but to think there would be a production method which would/should make the cost more reasonable.

That being said, it works well. I too ran into the hicuup of having to take out the two tamper proof screws. Luckily, my local Ace Hardware store had a bit set which had the included tri-ish looking bit.

Just Google "security tamper proof bit set" and you'll get tons of options.

I better go check the Dragon Lady's throttle. I have never noticed any slack and it is easy to blip her throttle while braking with two fingers or even for clutch less down shifts...

I'll definitely look at doing this when I get my bike back. I hate the amount of play in the throttle.

it does take up the play, but takes some time to re-adjust your throttle hand/ brain to the increased sensitivity...particularly when on maintenance throttle mid-corner if the surface has any irregularities.

If nothing else it reminds you to keep a very light grip on the bars :)

After the spacers it is just that much nicer!!

Is this similar to a normal 1/6 throttle turn for other bikes? Or is it just taking there initial movement out of the throttle ?

It is just filling in the gap between the sockets on the throttle tube and the DBW throttle lugs. The first post covers the procedure with pictures. It just takes up the slack in the initial throttle.

Sounds like it. I had these on my old ZX-10Rs and loved it. Probably going to pick one of these up as well.

I fitted this to my bike a couple of weeks ago. The packet has been sitting on my workbench for quite a while. I ordered last year at a bad time when they ran out of stock and it took about 3 months to get them.

Anyway I went for a ride last week and found it pretty good. I thought it may be too senistive over bumps but it was okay. I did notice a difference in the perceived sensitivity of the throttle. I loosened up my grip and that improved it.

I think it is a definite improvement over stock. It would be great on the racetrack I think. If you do not like it you can remove it easily and it is only $70 to buy. You could probably resell on here. Takes 5 minutes to fit and it take a No 3 Tri Wing to get the throttle open.

I fitted these today panigalespacers.com
Don't know if I'm missing something but there still seems to be about 10 degrees of slack.

Not sure it's made any difference at all. From standstill at a set of lights I twist the throttle and there still seems to be a slight delay before something happens. Is this normal after the kit install?
