I'm not, bugger!

Even worse, my Son is performing in the Chinese New Year parade in Sydney so I won't even get to watch it.

While its nice to see Bayliss back in the saddle on the Panigale, its sad for Giugliano as he is out for 3 months with a fractured hand sustained in the crash..

Atleast he is doing the Ducati team a favor by filling in for him to try to get the team some points instead of losing those outright.

since Troy has been involved in the panigale development from the get go, i guess his involvement also reached into the wsbk bikes. so it's a no-brainer to go with him! that's gonna be a hoot to watch.

Bayliss. Who WON the wildcard MotoGP race at Valencia in 2006 on a bike he hadn't ridden all year, after winning the WSBK championship. And this is at Phillip Island. On a Superbike. The Superbike that he was instrumental in the development of. And he's still in great shape, even though he's quite old in motorcycle racing terms. I sense an EPIC race to watch!

This is BRILLIANT news!!! I have always thought that Bayliss is one of the most talented riders ever... Can't wait to see what he can do.

<snip>At least he is doing the Ducati team a favor by filling in for him to try to get the team some points instead of losing those outright.

Apparently the ride came about as a result of TB's request to Ducati, not the other way 'round. So Bayliss himself was the instigator, and on the factory side it had to be seen as a no-brainer; big press, with no expectation of result other than pretty good for an "old retired guy". And they know he's fit and still riding, with a lot of laps on Panigales, albeit not the current WSBK unit. Top ten is fine, top five is awesome, on the box is super-awesome. A win would be...

So will he run the following 4 races that Guil is going to miss? If not do you think they let Allesandro run it?

I don't see it going beyond PI; just think it's one of those things where the stars align briefly (as opposed to colliding, in the case of poor Giugliano!). That said, if he goes really well, and the seat's open for a couple of rounds... ;)

hate the announcers for wsbk. hate watching be in sport on direct tv. LOVE THE FACT I WILL ACTUALLY BE INTERESTED IN THIS RACE NOW

they are terrible cant stand their voices. love the motogp guys except all the rossi bowing but world superbike is painful
