Isn't the Multi or one of the big BMWs kind of like a "comfy sport bike"? My SF 1098 is pretty comfy and can hang with most sport bikes. I wouldn't put it up against a sport touring bike for long range comfort though, but it is loads more comfy than the Pani.

The Mutley is an awesome bike...Especially now with the DS Testastretta and Skyhook suspension.... Still kinda fugly imo but no doubting its all round abilities...

It's kinda like the HP4 of the long distance touring set. :)

The multi is yes, but... don't flame me... in my eyes it's just an ugly bike, and I like the look of the diavel better. I like the SF a lot but it's too close to just being a sportbike for me to justify owning a pani and a SF financially. Like you said, I've heard that the SF isn't the best comfort wise for long rides, and aparently the diavel isn't either.

I can appreciate that - everybody looks at them a bit differently. I have an SF and a Pani and I am starting to think they are too close in function and riding position to justify both of them. I am thinking about a Hyper, multi or BMW to replace the SF, but can't decide what to do.

I can honestly say the 1199 is more comfortable than the Diavel..to me at least... I am not comparing the riding positions obviously.. But the Diavel kills your ass and spine .. hit a bump and your spine gets driven into your brain... If they sorted the suspension and you changed the seat then perhaps it could be rideable..Diavel also has too small a gas tank to be considered a serious option for cruising/touring... I would get 85 between low fuel lights....

Just got the Ducati serivce manual section for tightening torques/loctite for every bolt on the bike from SN: mike who got it from a guy who got it from a dealer...

But thought this would be good to get distributed on the forum. It's a 1.4mb pdf so I can't attach it. PM and I can send it to you :)

PM it to me, and I'll post it on my site with a link.

Haven't lost a bolt or nut yet. No problems here. None. Aluminum is different from steel. This bike is mostly aluminum, different torque specs and not as strong as steel parts of the same size. So if you are used to working on cars, you need to be more gentle with the bike. And use locktite, hehe.

may i ask what torque wrench/screwdriver folks are using? looking for a good suggestion as i'm not exactly a tool person. :)

I have a CDI (Snap-on) 3/8-Inch drive torque wrench, but I think you could get away with 1/4 inch drive for most things. I also have 3/8" drive hex bit set and long hex bit set. Link. I got this one because of the range, otherwise you could get less expensive ones.

I want a pocket sized miniature torque wrench for measuring up to 15Nm so I can check all them little cosmetic screws when I break at Starbucks Café. The wrench needs to have the DP logo on is as well.
