Perfectly valid, and I totally agree. We had a guy purking here for sometime before buying. He would use other posts to help point out problems with a bike he didn't even own. We cannot control it, but just learn that you cannot control people on this foum. The personalities of some escalate certain issues, and once a stance is made (in their mind) there of course is no going back or they lose face. Even if a valid argument is made. It could be worse, we could all have to live in France :D

Makes sense. I just asked a simple question to make it easier for me to understand the background of the various comments. I know many people have had sometimes serious problems with their Panigales. It is good to learn about these problems. I just want to foresee if I might have the same problems with my bike in the future. It does not help to have a non-Pani owner to post various comments about the Pani reliability if he actually does not have one. Old Ducs are old Ducs and the problems were there. I have had no problems with with my Diavel and so far the Pani has been good. Both are late model Ducs without problems.

No offense to anybody, I just put more value on the long term Pani rider's comments rather than put too much attention to guys who do not ride one. That is why I asked the questions.
Jariva - the answer is "no". That's why all the back and forth. :)

OK, no problem there. Just wanted to put things into perspective.

Maybe the US versions are the ones made on Mondays when the Italians recover from too much Chianti Sunday afternoon. The Friday ones are shipped to the US too, made during the POET's day. Piss Off Early, Tomorrow is Saturdayl

It seems my Pani was made mid week and my dealer/mechanic did a proper job setting up the bike for me (with blue Loctite).

lol those types of monday/friday jokes used to have truth in them... but not in the days where any major OEM has 6 sigma quality processes and you have quality engineers every step of the way... in 2013, you shouldn't have to hope to "get a good one"... they should basically all be good based on good quality control.

So explain why parts of my Pani have fallen off with that logic?

Haha, that's my whole point, I wrote earlier that this is unacceptable and a sign of incompetant engineering.

I researched the history of a house I bought back in '87, it started construction on 12/6/33, the day after prohibition ended!! Surpised it was still even standing!

HEY GUYS I'M HERE TO TALK ABOUT APRILIAS

I agree, paying this kind of money for a bike you should get the good one any time you part from your hard earned money. I would be pissed off if I had the same experience (forgot the name of the member with several melted display etc. etc. problems).

However, I prefer to have the opinions from the people who have had these problems personally and not just making general comments about the bike without having owned one. Mind you, these are easy to spot.

On the more serious note, is there a difference in the US delivered bikes (shipped more in bits due to shipping) and the European delivered bikes ( just put the mirrors on)?

If eveyone that owned a Pani had screws/bolts falling out, fine. But a small percentage are having issues. A hand built bike is going to have all the cosmetic screws hand torqued to various amounts, just human. Like I said earlier, my 1978 Kaw said to tighten bolts before riding. People that aren't, should not complain. Simple. Oh, IMO!!

i disagree with you here. i know 6 people that have ducs. i speak to them almost daily 5 pani riders and 1 1198 s rider. they arent just forum guys but guys i am friends with and every single pani rider i speak to had to loctite every single bolt. My friend that has the 1198s had the same problems as well. So i dont think its a small percentage. i guess 6 out of 6 or 100% is small.

With all my complaints and talk about the hp4 I still love the 1199. Just look at it when it is freshly cleaned. looks fast standing still (even though its a slower superbike that was sarcasim by the way) it demands attention. It never disappoints me till i get home and then i have to call the stealership or text one of my boys and complain.

Don't know if the US ones are different, but not like Ducati is a new company and hasn't been importing bikes to the US for decades now... The japanese and german bikes get shipped here too... so it's still no excuse. Should be figured out by now
