Quick shifter

when you say it shifts like oem ducati is that a good or bad thing?

I'm fine with the OEM Ducati one but the trans logic can be jerkey, like the Ducati, if you're not accelerating hard. The 1st to 2nd shift is he worst lol.

I guess I'm just old, no bike I have ever owned shifts better then my old CBR600F3 with undercut gears:)
I turn the QR off on the street. Using the QR on the track spoils me especially the auto blip on the downshifts with the slipper clutch. Don't have to worry about the well hopping like my old 1988 FZR1000 under heavy braking.

I've had several brands of quick shifters and have yet to find one that feels perfect on the street. The trans logic is amazingly smooth on the track.

For me it is the spirited riding and track I want fixed. Would be pretty happy to turn it off on city runs. [emoji1696]

installed translogic yesterday, real easy installation on the v4s. just make the shift rod same length as the factory one, install it and plug it in. it works great so far and it seems to have taken some of the play out of the shifter. i guess the factory sensor has more play in it than the translogic is my guess.

Do you have a picture of the installation?

Or if the device?

What did you feel?

Smoother shifts?

Faster shifts?

False neutrals? Slow shifts? Stucked shifter pedal?

Im interested in how this works. I have the trans logic quick shifter/auto blip on my race R6 and it shifts like the oem Ducati.

Just curious, I am also looking to get the translogic for my R6. How was the installation? Did you have to get it dyno tuned?

sorry forgot to take pictures. with the factory shifter the delay time felt to long also most of the time the shifts were jerky and rough including the downshifts which the bike would feel like it was lunging foward instead of decelerating. other times the delay felt really long whether at high rpm or lower rpms.so far i have had none of these problems with the translogic. this was all on the twisties and not on the track

Pretty straight forward. If you get the auto blip you need to have a front brake light switch. Other than that it's easy and works great.

isn't the kill time controlled by the ECU and not the sensor? The sensor just tells the ECU to do its thing, no?

yes it is but the extra travel in the factory switch must make it feel different i guess

What problems are you guys having with your QS? Mine has worked great especially under hard loads. Little jerkey when you're changing from a steady throttle and not accelerating.
I've had my 2019 V4S in to the dealer on three separate tickets for more than 7 weeks total for a faulty QS. It worked for the first 700 miles and took a crap. The QS straight up does not work under any conditions now. They've tried reflashing the firmware and have been through two new OEM sensors. Apparently the ECM shows that the sensor is communicating properly however it is not shifting. The Mid-Atlantic Ducati N.A. Service Area Manager had been working with the dealer via U-tech and they have not been able to resolve the issue.

They blamed my CNC Racing rearsets and insisted they would not provide further assistance until I reinstalled the OEM rearsets which I did. They want to try a third sensor out as they think the first two were faulty from the manufacturer.

They also mentioned that after this they would look to replace my ECM however tempered me that Ducati will put up a fight on approving that...

Is your bike a 2018 or 2019? My buddy has a 2018 and the quick shifter in his has completely stopped working even after the recalls were completed. The bike doesn't even show the gear position on the dash now.

2019. Purchased in May. I have maybe 1700 miles on it.

Well I installed my translogic on Saturday and forgot to take the wiring adapter off the end of it for my GP shift so it didn't work at all. Simple fix and should have read the instructions. [emoji20]. Just remember if you run the GP shift take the the little wiring extension off the quick shifter.

Anyway it felt much better on my first session at the track yesterday and then my second session I had sporadic trouble shifting up trough the gears. Then the next session coming into 2 at eastern creek which is tight from high speed things went haywire with lights flashing on the dash and no gear position indicator and no auotblip so pulled the clutch ran wide and pulled off track. Rode back to the pits after the session and assumed the gear position sensor crapped out and I could ride without the DQS so for the rest of the day. Riding with no DQS sounds easy but after riding in anger with a quick shifter you lose the skill of manual shifting with no clutch. It came back after a few sessions so not too bad but man I am pissed and disappointed with this bike.

So now it seems I need a gear position sensor.
