I had the Cordona on my 1299 before switching over to the HM. I had no issues with the Cordona what so ever. It was a great unit but I wanted to see how the HM felt.

Well, what can you say. Ducati has filed multiple patents for a seamless (N,1,2,3,4,5,6) gearbox so I expect this to be offered at some point in the near future. As it is now (at least on the V2) to me the gearbox is a downward departure from other bikes I have ridden but there seems to be some randomness as well. Some seem to work better than others. I do know that the race box is a very noticeable upgrade in terms of feel over the stock box so if you want a nice slippery gearbox, the NOVA is very Rolexy but you will need the additional Corse pieces to make it work to perfection. To add insult to injury and embracing the traditional Ducati attitude "you bought it, LOL, its your problem" the dip ..... who engineered the thing made damn sure you had to pull the entire motor from the chassis, disassemble the whole thing including splitting the cases if the gearbox has an issue when other manufacturers give you a cassette. Brilliant.

Anyhow, its easy to get tripped up on the Translogic stuff as I believe TL does have strain gauge tech on some of their units however the unit specifically for the Duc is a traditional 3 wire switch (no Intellishift box). The Cordona, HM etc are all good SG units. Additionally as long as you have the correct electrical connection and voltage range, any bi-directional strain gauge would work in place of the stock shifter which yes, is a nice POS. Im sure there are a lot of things you can do (gearbox blueprinting etc) to make the box better but unfortunately, you have to be able to get to it or you can send the whole thing to Don14R and he will take care of ya. He has a bitchin set of tools

I wound up selling my Cordona and replaced it with the HM stand alone blipper quickshifter pro. There were so many connections. And it came with what you would call a "brain". Thats where all the wires got plugged into. Two or 3 years ago if Im not mistaken you would have had to sodder in those connections. But as of 2 or 3 years ago its now all plug and play. You mount the "brain" on the right side of your gas tank. And the spot where you would normally plug a oem or aftermarket quickshifter gets a dummy plug.

The HM stand alone blipper quickshifter pro is probably an overkill for the everyday rider. There are so many functions it has like warming the bike up to what you set it at. Pitlane limiter, gear ratio setup, and much much more, like setting up your gear ratio, setting up your revlimiter and so much more. The only reason I bought this HM system stand alone shifter pro was so I could install it. And then let others know about its features if they bought it from me.

But Ill be honest. The Cordona 420speciale as well as the HM OEM quickshifter blipper replacement with shift rod and HM rosebud/hym joint replacement (the part that bolts to where your oem old quickshifter bolted to) is perfectly fine. Both the cordona 420speciale and HM OEM quickshifter blipper replacement are 10x better than stock.

#Ducatikev and many others like #Vicati have purchased both the Cordona 420speciale and HM OEM stand alone blipper replacement from me and loved how these units work. Both the Cordona and HM have the strain feature. I cant tell you which you would prefer. Both are excellent units. However if you want to go one step above then take a look at the HM stand alone light and stand alone pro. Hit me up if you're interested for great pricing on either and explanation on these models. And I can go over them over the phone with u.

so diy is possible, tell me more as it seems a pretty simple fabrication job and setup if you use the stock qs electrics

DYI is doable but may not be practical depending on ones skills and resources. Grab the schematic out of the manual and hit the google freeway. Hard to beat the Cordona unit but any SG that is set up for plug and play is a good solution. On a SG, resistance varies with applied force which is where you can start to get fancy with adjustability. With the micro switch setup you have a circuit that is either open or closed.

please send all these ...... crap waste shifters to me.
i will pay the aluminum price for any up/down shifter.

I bought the Cordona GP ASG quick shifter and should be installed in next hour or two before track tomorrow at Chuckwallla. Will review later.

Will be interesting to hear. The OEM QS sensor is annoying me.
I'm on the fence to go for the Cordona that I know makes awesome QS. Let's hear how you like it!

Hey brothers, I upgraded the quick shifter to the Cordona, and took it to the track at Chuckwalla on 5/8. I want to adjust it just slightly for me, but now the bike shifts up and down precisely, and didn't get stuck. Felt reliable for track duty. Shift down was perfect every single time.

Glad you were able to ditch the stock junk micro switch shifter and get a Cordona on. How are you going to adjust it? The load cell will allow for changes to the upshift delay, up shift kill time, down shift kill time, up shift voltage and down shift voltage.

Should be receiving the Cordona unit next week; can't wait because the OEM quickshifter is getting weirder for me- downshifts 5-4 or 4-3 are seemingly randomly successful so I started playing with setup yesterday.
What I found was that the upper gear downshifts do not like fully closed throttle, though sometimes it will work but I couldn't pinpoint an rpm because what worked once wouldn't a second time. Tried different targeted speeds and rpms multiple times.
Keeping the throttle slightly open, or opening it a bit if it's closed, those blip downshifts happen at all rpms. But from 3rd gear down, you can take your hand off the bars and it will still blip and click no problem.
I don't know why it operates this way, but coming into a fast corner in 4th the last thing I need is to try and process a slight throttle opening while braking and setting up body position. So for now I clutch down from the upper gears so there's no last second surprises. I for one don't typically downshift while still applying throttle unless I'm looking to gain rpms and bolt, so during deceleration it is unsettling.

I was at the track with you! That’s my buddy on the 899 and Ducati leathers that is in the bulk of your clip. I was on the 959 Corse.

That’s awesome! You are a fast rider! Also, it was a warm day. I’m heading to a Buttonwillow on 5/30 and back to June 5 and 6. Look me up on IG @motosage.la and would love to stop by your paddock and say hi if you are out and about.

Thanks! I’ll be at Buttonwillow on May 30 too! I’m not on social media so I’ll PM you.

I’m going with my club, the Ducati Club of Orange County. Ducati will be well represented on the 30th.

What organization is doing buttonwillow 5/30?
I need a track day this month

Shifts sound really smooth
I have the Ducati performance on my 899 it works fine but not as smooth as I would like
I might look into upgrading to cordona at some point
