Got the CNC Racing Limited Edition Rear Sets installed today.

MUCH better! Thanks to Bellisimoto and the entire gang over there! Great service!

Decided on using the fixed pegs from the Ducabike versions I recycled. I like their range of positions for the pegs and their customer service, but the design like Antihero stated long ago is bad.

The ball bearings in the CNC racing rearsets make these the choice! Love 'em!

My Lightech R's arrived but the damn U.S Customs went through the entire package like a meth house being served a warrant.

After cross checking the contents and assembling the parts, I'm just glad nothing was damaged or missing.

The seal was already cut and I opened the box to this.

No, that's actually how they pack them lol!

That's how mine were "arranged" as well.

Damn so I guess it wasn't the U.S Customs who ravaged through the box then.

Question, did you mount the rear brake switch? The instructions says to run it inline with the banjo bolt. I tried to trace the wire but lost it behind the plastic cover.

I bought mine sometime back - had to get a replacement banjo bolt as the one supplied was the wrong size. I did wire the brake light. The box was as jumbled back then lol - I ordered the CF heel guards as I hate those yellow symbols.

I did see one of your install pics where you too just zip tied to the brake line. That's what I did too and will install it's time to bleed the lines

Well it's good to know that Lightech hires 1st graders to pack their $800-1400 components. :D

Where the OEM brake switch plug connected? The cable doesn't look that long so I'm assuming the plug is behind the black plastic cover and I'll have to lift to tank to remove the cover, right?

The plug is behind the wedge shaped black plastic bits, it's an arse to get to....and i don't think the pins are the same anyhow. Far easier/quicker to cut the wires and solder/heatshrink the new switch in. once you put a banjo pressure switch in you aren't going to go back to stock...no reason.

True, it's just 2 wires.

Were you able to get the brake light to work? How do you like the sets, thinking of getting them.

I haven't messed with it yet and the OEM switch it's currently zip-tied along the brake line for now. I mostly ride the Pani on the track and going to Thunderhill on the 24th so I'm to test them out then. So far, I like the peg placement and grip. The red anodize and CF accent the white very well.

Honestly, since I got them for $775 + $30 shipping, they're not that bad but TBH a little overrated. I just can't see how RevZilla can sell them for $1300.

Not being able to use the OEM brake switch in the same location is half ass, esp since they use a generic connector and not the OEM plug. Also the rear brake lever has a stop screw so when it returns it's metal on metal contact and ghetto to me. If I could do it over again, I'd go CNC for a similar price or Rizoma's for $500.

Thanks for the info. I dont mind spending $1300 but would want to keep oem switch and dont want it to look "jerry rigged" I guess lightech is out for me, which other ones are on the similar level with cleaner install?

it doesn't look "jerry rigged" at all, if you use heat shrink over the wire joins and then over both most people would not notice

What about OEM brake switch not being compatible?

You use a banjo pressure switch, cut the wires about 4-6 inches up from the OEM switch and join the new switch wires in, cover with black heatshrink. If anything it removes the amount of "stuff" around the rearset. You will find that a lot of the aftermarket sets you will have to do the same.

As for bleeding the brake after it takes another couple of minutes.

If i get a chance tonight i will take a photo of mine(it's morning here atm).

cheers,

HQ Racing. Great rearsets for a steal of a price. Plenty of range for adjustment and excellent grip as well. Stainless and gunmetal finish or you can be like me n powdercoat them whatever color you'd like.

+1

Since majority of the aftermarket rearsets come in pieces, installing them is a lot easier. It's just removing the OEM ones that takes the most time.

My original choice was CNC like what JHTmcrider but not the LE ones. It looks like it utilizes the stock brake switch and I even emailed Randy about feedback on 1199 rearsets. The Lightech's came into the conversation b/c my buddy just bought some for his 1098R for $450 from MotoStorm.

I don't mind making it work either but for how much the R's cost, I would expected a full PnP setup. IMO, they look badass but those 2 issues that I've previously mentioned take away from them being labeled as high quality category.

RRnold, they do use the stock brake light switch. The folks at Bellisimoto had only the LE versions in stock so I pulled the trigger. Didn't want to wait any longer for the right kit.

Since I am GP shift it makes a world of difference.
