Road Salt is eating my Bike

I'm glad other people take out their 1199s in less than ideal weather besides me. Yes my bike gets dirty but she is also cleaned and maintained properly. Yes they are very pretty to look at but these bikes should also not be garage queens just because it's a Ducati, I bought my bike to ride and that is exactly what I do rain or shine.

said very well. i don't put my tools away dirty and i certainly don't do the same with my bikes.

too many of these bikes on here are pictured next to car & bike collections and not enough pics of them ridden... but that just my opinion.

it's your bike to do with what you want. but, you can't be surprised when parts and fasteners fail due to not taking care of them or being mindful.

same case with me, my solution: not looking at the bike and keep riding :D

I think your soft, but more power to you!! i like the ride "all the time" attitude, but eventually your time will run out, unless you spend the time thoroughly cleaning all the PARTS that road salt and whatever else they put in the salt/sand mixture on the road will eat your aluminun bike away. but hey who am i to judge, GOOD for you, KEEP riding!!

not quite sure i follow you mate, "time will run out"? let me clarify:
i said i ride the bike in ALL condition
i NEVER said i leave my bike dirty, i fact, every 1000-1500 mikes, i called my dealer on weekdays and they show up with a trailer, take my bike away, clean the bike, inspect bolt and nuts, suspension, flush brake fluids as needed, then return the bike to me before the weekend

also, i put on roughly 12,000-15,000 miles per year and trade the bike in for a new one every 1-2 years, dont keep them long enough to care :p
