School me on LHRB (left hand rear brake) for V4

This is the information I was looking for… thank you.

The bottom right line is the rear master cylinder to ABS pump. The S line above it is the supply from ABS pump to the rear brake caliper. By removing both of these lines, and installing plugs at the ABS pump and disabling ABS in the dash and staying in Race setting, that is Rear ABS delete. You have to buy a specific line that goes from rear master cylinder directly to the rear caliper. It would be nice to find a brake line kit that supplies the front ABS line but deletes the rear, to fully utilize the Ducati software but somehow no one offers that kit

Astral, small mistake on the information you've provided here. According to the service manual, 'S' in your image is going to the rear master cylinder and 'R' is going to the rear brake caliper:

Makes sense… S is the supply for MC to ABS, R is return from ABS to caliper.

Not the labeling I’d use but ok 👍

Thanks Alk, that is indeed what I meant. Labeling is correct

@andyb well I guess that must be the fan club lol, "enemies on this forum" how trivial 😂 i should start a poll and send out tshits
I know you think you're trying to be helpful, and you seem to be knowledgeable on some things, but all you're doing is making enemies on this forum

You are correct that he did a great 1st attempt but his safety wiring technique has fundamental issues that we need to help him with. If you've done any type of safety wiring in your life you would know this is not correct:

The opinion of IT trained, mechanic poseurs makes my coffee taste slightly better, not bitter. Reminds me of an aftermarket double sided swingarm "that'll work"

I, personally, never use the rear brake 🤷

But, people that do, say they're on it all the time. Corner entry (as you're braking), mid corner (help tighten the line), and anti-wheelie. I know some fairly slow riders that use it too, so can be used by all levels.

I have my engine brake set higher than I used to (ie more engine breaking), and am still setting PBs, maybe a connection!

Hello, +1, once you've tried the rear brake in tight corner, it is amazing how the bike turns. I would also go for the "scooter" brake but Beringer has this product: Thumb brake - Beringer Brakes

I’ve had the IMA thumb brake on my bike for some time but only recently started using it often. For sure I think the index finger brake (scooter) style brake will be easier to modulate.

I order the Dicacciati setup to try

Gents, here's an update, I got this project done over the winter.

Brembo RCS16 clutch master. Custom line straight to rear caliper. Needed new clipon for real estate since I have stock swithgear.

I have two days on this setup so far and its AWESOME. I find it natural to use one finger (middle finger) to drag the rear brake when needed.

I liked the index finger brake much better than the thumb brake on the Ducati…but for whatever reasons I like the thumb brake setup better on the KTM at track.

I’m running the Discattiati thumb brake, and on the RC 8C I find I’m actually using it a lot more…I use it on almost every corner now.

Very cool setup Tom…I also ran a line directly from the clip on to the rear caliper. This is the way.

Did you remove the foot brake altogether?

Hola,

Gracias.

Saludos✌🏽
