I left my kill switch covering the start button for 9 days and the battery was fine. I do not think this is an issue, at least anymore. That being said, I use the key to turn off all my bikes.

The kill switch on the right hand bar is exactly the same as on my Multistrada 1200 S. Having just completely drained the battery on that by leaving that switch in the down position I would recommend putting it in the up position. Ducati issued a bulletin re: the MS about this, warning that the battery may drain if the switch is left down. Lord knows why this would be, but as the switchgear and electronics on my Pani seem almost identical to the MS I'm keeping mine up!

Its a different bike not a Multistrada. The 1199 system modified with more advanced electronics that shut off after 70 secs as a previous poster has stated.

Ducati have learned from that design issue.
