I have 1299 with just 900 miles on it, and when I'm done riding I get this smell of burnt oil coming from the motor area. I've had other motorcycles have a smell (new paint baking-in on the motor) when new. But this is definitely oil burning. This smell has been there even before my first service. Anyone else have this smell? Or have any clues as what could be?

Check your sump plug. Perhaps leaking from there onto hot exhausts.

For the old timers here remember "Elitesoldier357" and his burning 1199.

I guess for me coming from a I4(zx10) i always thought the pani had a different smell to it- May be that?

Check for leaks, maybe valve cover.

It may be rich fuel and oil in the cat that's still burning away. It happens. Don't ever start the bike just to show someone how it sounds. That floods the cat.

Could just be engine oil from blow-by or the PCV system. I wouldn't sweat it yet. Just about all the Panigales had a stinky smokey first 1000 miles. When I picked mine up, they warmed it up and prepped it while I was signing the paperwork. It filled their entire garage with enough smoke to kill a fire marshal. Bike runs fine.

Came from a zx10r also (Gen4) and they definitely smell diff. After most if not all rides, the ZX10R would have a burnt eucalyptus smell to it, the Pani, nothing like that lol
