Between working and family commitments, I like to muck about in my workshop slowly improving the set up. I recently put in a great stereo system all with high end pieces that I have purchased secondhand over the last 2 years.
Couple of years ago I got an old stereo cabinet from the 1970's which my mum picked up from the side of the road and she used it as a sewing cabinet. I used it as a bench for a few years and then ended up enclosing it with some plywood which I painted. The first pic shows how it ended up. It was static though and could not easily be moved.
Over the last couple of weeks I have been modifying the bench by adding some drawer units on wheels. It now moves around freely. Looks simple enough job but was actually more complicated than it looks to remove the old cabinet (which was all screwed together with the surround) and then close the gap to the floor with some wood trim.
The pics show how it ended up. The stickers are custom made from a guy here on the forum that Gunny put me onto. They were done during the first build.
Last pic is the workshop music machine. Denon 3808A, an old Pioneer DVD/CD player, and an Elektra 7 CH 185 wpc power amp, driving two Krix Neuphonics speakers. (Note the carbon shelf ) The spkrs are bi amped. At reference level I get some serious volume in the workshop. Have not measured it with the SPL yet but it will be up there I reckon.
If anyone is interested in seeing the new 1199S and the "blonde", I can post up a pic of that too.
