Some track day prep questions

The 1098's will get off a corner pretty good. I have one and a V4. They're about the same displacement, the 1098 is gruntier until about 6500 then they're about the same until 9500 after which the V4 adds 50 HP and the 1098 needs another gear. I can see it, you're closing on the straights and he's getting away in the twisty bits. I also have an 1198, all I can say is my evil twin could readily spank me if he was on the 1198 and I was on the V4SF.
To be honest he is just better than me everywhere, faster in, deeper and much quicker on the throttle in exit. But great to learn from

@spooky have you put your v4r for sale yet? I'm wondering how much you are asking and I'm trying to fair price mine as well
I did put it up for sale, but I haven’t made any particular effort to get it moved on and I haven’t exactly listed it extensively. I can’t remember exactly what I listed it for - probably something like 53.000 Euros with everything (all mods and upgrades, stands, warmers, etc, etc, because if I do sell it then the next one won’t be SSSA).

I’ve not really given this any attention over the last few months - been busy moving into a new house and updating the cinema in it, which has been fun as I’ve not looked at that sort of stuff for many years. The bikes are currently stuffed into a corner of the garage and surrounded by boxes of stuff while my girlfriend redecorates a house that I thought was perfectly fine. She’s usually right though… Different priorities… 🤣

I think if I seriously want to do so then in the next couple of months I’ll just put it back to stock and sell the additional parts - I think that’s got a better chance. I think there’s a far better chance of selling the bike when it’s just stock. The alternative would be to use it this year - selling might be more sensible but I’m very comfortable with it and it is really fun to ride. That would probably bring me into the expensive service, depending on how much I get on track this year.

A woman who wants you to update your cinema, lucky you. Of course, while simultaneously expanding the footprint of her shoe closet (beautiful owns more shoes now that I have ever had in my entire life). BTW, when you get ready to tune-up your surround system find Black Hawk Down. Fire fight in the square, just awesome.

I’d say she doesn’t object to the cinema (and bikes) because I don’t give her a hard time about her mountain of shoes, bags and dresses. I’ve never seen so many Fendi boxes in my life… it’s a disease. In fairness to her, much is at cheap prices through contacts, along with a work clothing budget and gifts from her boss’s wife. She’s a savvy shopper, she just does it far too often. Makes her happy though.

Surround should be updated within 2 weeks. Should be excellent but some of the speakers are overly complex custom builds - I’ve very little understanding of the deeper technicalities but it already sounds good before the upgrades go in.

The new projector is in and calibrated and it’s quite impressive how good the image quality is considering the size of it.

Once it’s finished it should be good for at least the next 10 years.

I had a Sony 4k projector in the last house which I liked. What I found was the quality of the screen was equally important. Beautiful has 5/6 of the walk-in closet and then a totally separate shoe closet. And then uses the closet in one of the other bedrooms for her coats. Comical at some level.

Are you sure our women are not sisters? 🤣

Sony make some good stuff. The cinema originally had a 1080 projector and I've upgraded to the JVC NZ900, which is native 4K and upscales to 8K. I'm quite impressed by it. This is on a screen that's a bit over 180" and taken with an iPhone:
