Just got the word from my traffic attorney that they successfully defended my most recent speeding ticket and I couldn't be happier.

Background:
About a month after getting the Pani I got clocked doing 61 in a 55 on Angeles Crest Highway (note: this enforcement was a result of two rider fatalities on Hwy 2 from the prior month).

After that I spent a lot of money and had a custom installation of a Passport 8550 Plus active radar / jamming unit. Everyone has their view of whether they are worth or not and that has been discussed many times on the board.

Fast forward 10 months I rolling up the Crest, with 'all radar systems on' and what happens? I get lit up by a CHP bike officer doing 75 in a 45 mph and my system never alerted. He shot me with Lidar from above the road and I totally deserved it (how's that for gracious?).

Update:
Not wanting or needing any more tickets I decided to spend a lot of money and fight the ticket. Ultimately I paid an attorney $1,500 to fight the ticket and got a ton of crap from my friends, but it can afford it and didn't want to think about riding the bike neutered.

Found out today I won as the Sate of CA failed to provide the documents requested in the subpoena and the CHP officer didn't show. No regrets and while expensive an awesome outcome!

For those in need it was 866speeding.com

Might be a bit harsh Nola.
As long as he did not endanger anyone around him or himself and wasn't doing break neck speeds.
We have a similar mountain run and I admit having surpassed the recommended speed or speed limits plenty of times.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying: you paid $1500 to a lawyer and you are celebrating because the officer didnt show up and thus you won the case? I would be quite pissed at having wasted $1500 in a case that you would have won without a lawyer...

Ha - I paid my lawyer 100 dollars the other day to beat a ticket. The prosecutor changed it to a non-moving violation, ticket was $212. That is easy to do in St Louis.

I have used those $100 lawyers before ("Mr Ticket"). Apparently they manage to get leniency for the first ticket -mine got me in traffic school. After that, the only way they can win a case is if the officer doesn't show up or shows up but cant provide proof of proper radar calibration... In reference to the first post, they dont really do anything, you are just paying them to be there for you in case any of those scenarios happen. You already burnt your first chance, dont bother to pay one of these lawyers for the next one. my two cents

"As long as he did not endanger anyone around him or himself""¦He was admittidely speeding on a road that they were intentionally running radar on, because of two rider fatalities !

Still different. I don't think you have anything to say brother unless you NEVER speed on public roads.

Me, hell yes I do. But im out in the middle of nowhere.

Anytime you cam skate a speeding ticket on a bike, so be it.

Of course we all do"¦.but we don't get on here and gloat about it. Man up and pay the ticket. Its called personal responsibility.

Just 2 weeks ago my lawyer beat 2 tickets for a total of 13 points the speeding one was 11 points alone.... That was in my car.... Lol I don't stop on the bike ... 3 more speeding tickets to go that occurred with my car. Some really petty speeds just the pigs collecting money for the city ....

NOLA I hope your bike is track only to be talking that shyt .... Don't buy a spaceship and just drive it up and down the runway you either fly or remain a ..... ... As soon as you swing a leg over this pony you know what you signed up for ...

He payed way more then the ticket just to get off so he can keep riding.

They are revenue collectors besides all the good things they do.

We are overtaxed and preyed upon and exploited by law enforcement to some extent.

You have never gone to court hoping the cop wouldn't show?

The OP did not get out of his crime, the establishment failed and possibly on purpose. It is just the legal system, and the lady who weighs all this out is blindfolded.

Let it go brother, I think he got lucky, better things to debate about.

So that validates my moron point. How about slow down if you can't pay the ticket, or have so many you are about to get revoked. There is a new idea. Instead of scamming the system.

No, you are overtaxed and prey'ed upon by your legislators, not the cops. The cops just enforce it and bring it in front of a judge. Vulture legislators started all this, I'd think the riders from Cali would get that by now.

Its not like this came up in just a regular post"¦he made a specify thread to gloat about it. Come on !"¦

Jesus"¦.how many tickets do you have !"¦You don't see that as a bit much ? Once you have your first hospital ride, you will slow your cage down.

I'm "talking shyt" cause I said he needs to be responsible for his actions ??? Just cause you aren't either doesn't make you any better.

Week before last I was in your damm lib-tard state and discovered that Brooklyn has ZERO parking, insane street cleaning rules, hidden yellow curbs, no pay for park, and of course fire hydrants hidden in snow. So when I came out to find a awesome orange and white ticket slid INTO my passenger mirror (The cop didn't even get out his/her car to put it on the window), I PAID IT !"¦Doesn't matter I missed parking near the hydrant cause of the snow. I DID it"¦and sent out my $115.00 to your state govt. Cause I DID IT !"¦.WTF.

Been pulled over 4 times in the last year. One was for 78 in a 55. Was with another rider and on a passing section in the mountains. We didn't want to get slowed down in the upcoming turns to gassed it just a little to get around the last 3 cars. CHP was a rider and looked like he was going to write us up but we were both totally honest and I asked openly for a warning. He did just that and then spent some time talking about the bike.

Second time I had been doing 63 to 65 in a 55 and got pulled over. CHP said they were having some bikes stolen and was checking ownership. I mentioned my speed and he felt I was riding safely and speed not an issue. Another rider who mainly wanted to check out my ride.

Third one was totally my fault. Was on a country road and was looking to get around a dawdler doing 50 to 55 in a 55 and wanted to not get stuck in the turns. plenty of space and took him at about 65 with about 1/4 throttle and did it right in front of a CHP in the bushes.... Got putted over. He was taken back that I didn't try to avoid him in any way and was surprised to see an older guy when I took off the helmet. Another rider and gave me a warning, very short lecture and about 10 minutes talking about the bike.

Then about two weeks had a CHP profile me as I went through a very limited traveled town and on to a stretch where it is rarely patrolled. I watched him go down another road slowly and felt he would show up on the next road looking for me to be speeding. I kept at 55 to 60 and sure enough finally saw him after about 2 miles hanging back. When I got into the turns I held my speed but did not accelerate coming out of the turns and kept it at 55. This one pulled me over and claimed I had no license light. Told him I did and he was nice but probably disappointed. My guess is he was not a rider. All of these were on my AMG and for some reason that bike gets twice the attention of my Tricolor.

Hey bikers risk their own lives... You really can't tell someone how to ride wether slow or fast bikers don't kill cars cars kill bikers .... And quite honestly it's hard to abide the law with some drivers near you so you may need to break a rule or too at your own discretion... Be cool be understanding….

lmfaoooo i now know why your upset at LArider….. its because he got away with the ticket but you had to pay a parking ticket in nyc lmfaookoooooooooooooooo

has to be the reason because this part o your argument didn't exactly correlate to the topic or argument in general loooool

Same here. I've only received one speeding ticket in St. Louis, but $100 to traffic lawyer got it reduced to an illegal parking violation.
