Stolen from Motocorsa in Portland

cool to do the Nicky bike...

you should do the dry clutch and skip those wheels, Kentucky Kid would not approve

I can’t stand the noise of a dry clutch. #tinitus
I prefer the wet clutch and love the Desmoworld cover.

4+ months later and Motocorsa is still building the bike. Given the pandemic and everything, I'm glad it's still moving along. Last I spoke with the GM they have been building the bike up. Akra full system is installed and I imagine a lot of the other bits as well. I ordered a carbon front fender that is going to be painted like the original Nicky Hayden bike front fender, except where it is black on the original plastic fender will be carbon with the rest being painted the same (shell logos etc.)
The only parts that hadn't shown up yet (as of a couple weeks ago) were the Rotobox Bullet wheels, the Desmoworld clutch cover, and the front fender (late purchase).
I had the bright idea to get the farings wrapped in clear PPF but the wrapper was not skilled enough and did a horrible job. I had him pull off all the PPF and I'll just have to be careful with the paint. I had the painter buff out a couple minor scuffs and now the farings are perfect again.
Motocorsa has been excellent in their communications with me. It has been very refreshing. If you are looking for a new Ducati or even a used bike, I would encourage you to give them a shot at your business.
I have been working on the road since mid-June chasing the helicopter to different fires averaging about 95 hours worked per week. I had to change the main rotor head twice and a main rotor transmission once in the past two weeks. I will probably be out in the field for at least another couple of weeks. I can't wait to show you all my new bike!

P.S. 2 years ago October 5th I bought my new 2018 V4S. June 2nd of this year she was stolen. A little over 4 months and not a whisper of my old bike. No parts have ever turned up anywhere online, and I haven't seen anything. I wonder where it is now.

You arent going to find any of these parts for sale. the scumbags that did it are probably going to buy an ignition and a frame elsewhere and then rebuild your bike on the new frame and ignition and they have themselves a 45,000 bike for $7k. My last part out experience I had some VERY shady characters trying to buy my frame and ignition but I refuse to sell to people I thought were going to use it for a stolen bike.
My friends HP4 went from N.J. to Florida where it was tripped. I’d imagine your bike will find its way to Southern California.
Keep us informed if motocorsa does in faceless make it right (I’m 99.9999999% sure they will). on the bright side you’re getting a brand new bike!

Pardon the horrendous spelling here... don’t type and drive.

Thanks for the comment MdDuc! I'd bet that I never see the bike again and you are quite possibly right. At this point, frames and ignitions are readily available in the secondary market. Woe be the rider if I ever see anyone on the bike though! I watch YouTube as well but the only time I have seen my bike is in my videos and in my friend's videos. Waiting to see it in some UAE crazy riding video...

Another good reason why you should take note of your bikes engine serial number. To my knowledge NO states or insurance companies track engine serial numbers but in situations like this you can always keep your eye on eBay engines and see if numbers match up. I’ve always been shocked the insurance carriers I’ve used don’t document engine serial numbers for motorcycles, yet when it comes to boats (at least on I/I’d like I have) they record the engine serial number as well as the outdrive Serial number and it’s put right on the title. Anyway, I hope you’re back on two’s soon. ...... situation.

Well I know that the VIN number is engraved on the engine block. It isn’t readily visible either. At this point it matters little as I have signed the title over to the insurance company.
As for the dry clutch, I’m no Ducati purest either. The V4S was the first Ducati I’ve ever ridden. I rode an 1098 Corse and it rode like trash compared to mine. The clutch was so much heavier and it didn’t feel nearly as stable. I’ll buy an electric Ducati if they can make one that is faster and lighter than the V4S with at least 100 mile range and sub 30 minute charge time.

Well guys and gals, they did it. They stuck to their word and replaced my bike and made me whole. I am the proud owner of the Nicky Hayden Tribute V4S. New 2019, every single piece that my 2018 had on it plus the NH69 tank, clamp, custom farings, Rotobox Bullet wheels, Evotech tank protector, Rizoma Gas cap (not pictured but installed), Peter Lieb carbon seat pad and headlight bracket covers, and I replaced the custom painted plastic front fender with a carbon front fender painted the same.
They stuck to their word, did everything they said they would, and finished the bike yesterday. There will be a ton of pics in the very near future.
