Looks spectacular. Nicely done! A lot of work though :-/

The tank on my SP doesn’t appear to be coated with anything. Feels like bare aluminum to me.

I never saw one in person, are the R tanks matte or glossy? There's only one paint code for clear listed in the V4R manual along with a base white and of course the Ducati red.

Looks nice,... I did one a year ago. Used a lot of time but got the entire tank clean. I used 240 dry and got off those sticky remains. when it was completely clean I used the grey Scotch brite pads to scuff the lines in one direction.
When done, I used a kitchen sink polish to get rid of some of the shine. I didn't clear coat it, just applied the original stickers in black. The result was close to the original used on the R series....

Did it hold up ok not being clear coated?

Yes,.. it did hold up… but my bike is stored in my garage… not sure if you leave it out in the rain for a long time though…

Just a quick question for those who have clear coated their stripped tanks what did you use and how did it hold up? Was thinking of doing mine and just getting some ideas
