Ah , I remember those days . I ride up to the gate on my brand new 91 GSX-R 750 , feeling like a true bad-... ! I was buying a coke while the sticker patrol installed my base decal in it's then official mounting place , the lower left fork. When I went to check on his work , I spit coke all over the damn place. The ..... had put the decal on the wet slider porting of my inverted fork ! As I stared at the soda stains on my t-shirt , I calmly informed the ...... that I would be needing a new sticker !

In France, we have the insurance sticker. It's green and plain ugly, so I keep it on my wallet, and show it when asked. Had to pay a €11 fine once because it wasn't sticked on the bike, but I rather pay that to my stealing government than put it on.

I usually just buy one of these...
River Road State Inspection Sticker Mount Plates - Flat Universal
...and attach it to the mounting point of the left side front reflector but looking at the 1199 pics I don't see one any front reflectors (aren't they DoT mandatory?). I've also seen people put them on the infills...

Hah! I was always think about things like... parking decals... where does one put these things on a Ducati so the decal is effective but doesn't devolve the beauty of the bike??

bwaide is right, left fork. On my 1198 I had to sometimes point to it for the guard, and he would have to bend down to see it, but no issues at Ft. Bragg with it there.
