Sorry if I wasn't clear. I mean for the rest of us that purchase Akras for Base/S/R models.
 
My local dealer just called me to say they got 3 of them in so I'm gonna go check them out. I'm sure the photos don't do the bike justice. I feel excited and I'm not even an owner lol

I've never heard this.... That would be a TON of set-up work to have to add cams....

I am not aware of any race cams.

Anyway, the SL cam has a Superbike intake lobe profile. Nobody's going to find significant power by swapping it out.

The 1199RS cams have the same lift as a 1199R cam just more opening duration. We plan to clock the SL cams once we get the bike back to the shop.
 
YEAHH YEAH they here..... i'm not being Sarcastic however i don't understand the big deal. I was getting tires put on yesterday and saw this at my dealer and asked price, he said guess... i said oohh mere $30-$35K he said go higher, i said WHAT ok ducati bla bla 1199 pinkish color ... $40k he said that would be a steal!!! he said try $65,000 and ducati HAS to INVITE you... WHAT THE HELL IS that???

now only being new to the ducati world i dont think that's fair what if i was always a fan like a groupie but couldn't afford the ducati sticker..... i want super leggera!! pinkish color bike too one time. can anyone explain?

The bike comes STOCK with the full Akra titanium headers and "homologated" Akra titanium exhaust cans. The "Race Kit" also contains "non-homologated" Akra titanium exhaust cans which are optional to install (they look the same). (Homologated means they have catalytic converters in them). The headers do not change, since the bike already has the full Akra ti headers on it right out of the crate. The "Race Kit" also comes with an up-map key to enable the "non-homologated" fuel map for the bike as well.

AH right.

So, It is fitted with full ti system but with Akro restrictive silencers fitted.

Must admit, wasn't impressed with 10-12hp over a base models 168ish rwhp, but now knowing this I would assume there is alot more to rwhp to come when fitting the unrestrictive full monty Race silencers (and Map?) ;)

Yeah, but if HP was your focus, the extra $35,000 (here in the USA, probably 35,000 GBP where you are) over an R is going to by some very nice and fruitful engine work.
 
Saw one today...Firstly I was shocked how orange it is.... Whoa its bright...But no carbon swing arm cover??? Even I have that....:)
 
I also think you are underestimating the fact that those figures are produced with a road legal exhaust on a motor that is tuned to run on pump has and carries a warranty.

Though now that I think about it, let's say you race this thing and want to mess with fueling etc, can you do that with the unique electronic setup it has?
 
Just saw a SL dynoed...193.7....That sounds like a healthy number to me.... Variables of dynos given of course :) But this dyno generally shows an average of 175 for 1199's...
