One part number now, it's on the K&N thread I started

yes, read that, thanks. will be using K&N (KN-159) oil filter for my next oil change.

did my first oil change last night using the ordered OEM (0321B) filter, but to my surprised when i opend the box, the 1199 (0291C) filter was inside the 312B labeld box! lol. dbl checked the inside diameter measurement on the rubber grommet, and also confirmed it was same, so i just used it.

so basically, you could still use the "older" model number labeled filter... haha

I might be interested in trying to retrofit an 1199 nose w/extensions with my 1299 nose. They did mold the extensions into the 1299, but it doesn't have quite the same clean and sharp look of the 1199, at least to me.

It's still a beautiful bike, but the front makes me feel like the 1299 is an 1199 that got stung by a bee and is swollen :p

Actually that would be an awesome project I'd like to do when I had the chance to get a crashed 1299S: conversion to a 1199 Tri, that would be a dream bike for me.

does anyone know if the tail fairings and rear cowling from the 1299 will fit on to the 1199?

Pretty sure not. Certain bits share commonality but I think mounting of the side fairings to the sub frame is different.

How about the Rizoma rear sets? They don't list a set for the 1299. Has anyone tried fitting them yet? Pro Italia lists the set as working with all versions of Panigale, but Rizoma doesn't list them as compatible? Anyone have facts on this?

No, rizoma rearsets DO NOT fit the 1299... They are working on a bracket that will make them work, no eta

I would be interested in this as well. I agree that the 1299 is a great looking bike but personally I like the look of the 1199 a little better as well. I would think it would be possible but it would be a lot of work. You would have to get an 1199 headlight and all of the wiring for that plus an 1199 fairing stay. I think you would have to come up with a mount for the IMU also. I'm sure there would be a bunch of other miscellaneous screws, bolts, pieces, etc, etc, to get as well. I believe you would have to change the side fairings to the 1199 version also because I don't think the 1299 fairings would work with the 1199 headlight fairing. If you go ahead and change your front end from the 1299 to an 1199 make sure you post some pictures of your progress and the finished product. I would be curious to see what is all involved with the project.

What do you think, can I use 1299 led headight in my 1199 if that is only part what i want to change? thanks for help.

They can be made to fit with a small amount of milling to fit around the left hand swing arm pivot mount. The dealer did mine for me.

if its the same part # as the 1199 led lights then yes you just have to splice them in to the harness.. they are not plug and play on the base model 1199, but if you have the 1199S/R they would be plug and play..

Well by this logic, every item on the 1199 can be "made to fit" the 1299, fact remains, it is not a swappable part ;)

No, the 1299/1299S/Panigale R 2015 headlight is geometrically different from the 1199 series headlights. Its a bit wider (due to the wider fearing of the 1299) and has a different shape also.

It might only fit if you use the entire upper/mid fearing (including front fearing braket) of the 1299 on a 1199. The lower fearings are identical.

Yes, it will fit. I've seen it work. If you get the complete 1299 tail section, it will fit with slight modifications. Bonus is, you don't have to replace the sub-fairing to make it fit.

Hence the "IF" at the beginning ;)
