I forgot one thing.. In the pictures above, I was 230 lbs.. I am now down to 195 lbs. so I am assuming the personal weight loss will also help drop the lap times.
We used Tuneboy to load up a tune on my Wife's Triumph Daytona 675R.. Dead simple and the fact that you can turn off the intake flapper valve as well as the EXUP, change the rev limiter and the temps the fans come on, change the kill times of the quickshifter are all amazing. The problem is that you just don't know if the tunes you are loading are all that good. We did find a race tune that is amazing for her bike.I had been missing my S1000RR, but not anymore. I do recognize that for whatever reason, I just couldn't get a feel for the road on that bike - most likely suspension setting issues, or it needed a good set of Ohlins
switching to Pirellis helped - my riding style really seems to mesh well with them, whereas the Michelins I stuck with for so long just felt numb. But it was still a relatively heavy bike to toss around, and I had shaved a good 20lbs off of that thing.
Even though I have yet to successfully get my Tuneboy software to work, I still prefer the idea of simply plugging into the tail of the bike, versus installing a full harness for a piggyback. I've always done my own PCV or Bazzaz installs, but the one I did a couple months ago for my wife's bike reminded me that I'm getting too old to get excited over tearing a bike down

I would use Tuneboy on my Panigale, but I don't have the time or patience right now to fiddle with it and come up with a perfect tune for my bike; I am hoping the RapidBike module gets me 90% of the way to perfect.. if it does, I will be happy and then I'll have my local tuner (not Shiv) get the tune perfect (he doesn't do Tuneboy).
Cheers.
yes.. This time I will go with something WHITE!!! I do 75% of my track work at Thunderhill and it's a freaking furnace and as you can see in my pictures, my present leathers are mostly black...Congrats on the weight loss! This means you need to celebrate with new leathers though.

I think I'll stick with Dainese, but might take a look at Kushitani..
Anyone have an opinion on some great leathers that aren't Dainese, or Kushitani? I have Helimot locally, so maybe I'll start there.

RS Taichi, but I got fitted for a the new Dainese Airbag suit recently and would go that route myself. Colors are a bit blah but who cares. Frickin' airbags man! Only 2500 bucks retail as well.
go ahead, be a rebel and wear your BMW suit on the Ducati.. . If it makes you feel any better, I have a custom made set of Triumph 675 Leathers that are sitting in my hallway closet, unloved and almost unused (they don't fit quite right) that I might be able to fit in now that I'm skinnier, so I could be rocking some Triumph leathers on the Pangale. SACRILEGE!!once I finish my weight loss goals, I will be celebrating with leathers....the ones I used to be able to fit in!!
I'm wondering though - that suit is a BMW suit. But it's in great shape, 100% kangaroo leather, cost me an arm and a leg back in the day, and the white stays relatively cooler in the sun. Shouldn't be too odd for me to wear that on my 1299?
my wife claims it's overboard OCD to get a Dainese suit in kangaroo leather that will better match my bike, but I think she just wants to keep me from spending good money on good products
Thats my exact problem with my Dainese suit.. SOOOOOOOOO effing hot at Thunderhill.. Once I get moving, it's ok, but on the grid in 107, 110 degrees is brutal torture. Must go all white with the next one.I have a black Alpinestars MX-1 suit and I nearly passed out at a track day because it was too hot. I had to strip down like a "boy on fire" as soon as I got off the track. Now, I have a white Alpinestars GP Tech suit and it's so much cooler that I only remove it during lunch.
Man, those are some STOUT numbers!! What was the torque? I hope mine gets close.. We will see when I get my RapidBike race module installed.just did a baseline pull. So, with the Termis and Sprint filter, but before loading in the Tuneboy map, it did 192 wheel horsepower. Not bad
i am now totally convinced that my dealership's master tech is a God amongst techs. He was the one that suggested doing the reset adaptation and MAN does it make a difference. Once your map is done, try doing the reset adaptation and then take the bike out and beat it like a rented Mule for a while and see how it feels.97lb/ft torque. we've been working on the map for a few hours now, so final results after tune are still unknown. The top end was running pig rich (10.x:1 AFR!!!!) so there will certainly be some top end gains. However, I'm mostly concerned about the midrange torque and power curves.
