My dealer is letting me take a 1098S out this weekend because Im currently on a 749 and havent ridden a 1000+ cc bike. My wife wants me to ride one before I pay for the 1199.

Hows that bike compare in speed to the 1199, i know its slower but i recon not by a whole lot.

.... three posts... sorry guys.

Dont upgrade to windows 8, The browser kept on crashing as I was typing. :(

the 1098s has 155hp while the 1199 has 195hp. the 1098s has traction control while the 1199 has abs, traction control, quick shift, ebc etc.

As with ridding characteristics, the 1098s will have more torque in the low revs and it will pull very hard, much harder than your 749, on the other hand the 1199 has a docile start but once it reaches 7,000rpms, it will accelerate like a rabbid dog on fire.

for the looks, both bikes look great however, one look at the 1199's gas tank and you will see how modern the design is and the 1098 will look old beside it.

The 1098 will feel heavier aswell. Think of the 1199 being as agile/nimble as your 749 if not much more so, but with even more power than the 1098.

@ Desmodromic system ", it will accelerate like a rabbid dog on fire. " LMAO , love that description!

I have a 749 and a 999. The best comparison possible because the bikes are identical except for the horsepower.

The 999 is awesome ;)

You dont have to turn the throttle if you dont want too...Only you can determine how much power you want...when you get to the stop all the time like me on the 749 you then know you need an upgrade...

None of these bikes are like old 500 twostrokes with a wild power band. I took out the bmw 1000rr and it was as easy to drive as a 100hp 600 around town...
