These things just keep getting better and better, and we are just at the very beginning of the development curve. Probably the next 5 years of electric bike development will equate to how the 1199 has more power AND refinement than MotoGP bikes of 20 years ago, especially with hybrid technology being advanced in the automotive world with the La Ferrari and McLaren P1.

I never hear anything about the MotoCysz anymore. This was always the most stunning electric sport bike design to me:

Mine as well, they ran the IOMTT electric the first 2 years they had it and maybe after but I stopped keeping track...

If we are talking about cool future stuff, this hoverbike must be mentioned as well lol:

$85K, 45mph, 1 1/2hr fly time on a tank.

Not to mention the latest types of batteries as well coming into production:

Now just give me my LENR home power unit and I'm good :D

can somebody tell if i can fit one of this in a 8x12 trailer I'll need it for the track day

This is funny.
I think the bike is cool and has a lot of technology and it's probably the future but I'm not too into it just yet. One thing that would be a disadvantage is the mileage. What if you go on a longer ride say 200 or 300 miles (or if you're just plain crazy like antihero and do a 1000 mile day) you would have to stop every 100 miles and wait half an hour for the bike to recharge. Also, I gotta have sound. That's one of the big things that draws me to Ducati is the sound.
Like White13Pani said, 38 grand is a nice down payment on an SL. These bikes are pretty expensive and if you want to add some of the options like they specified in the article it would cost even more.
None the less it is a pretty cool machine.

No thanks for me, i will take an internal combustion engine. For me the smell and sound are a huge part of the riding experience. I guess i'm old fashioned since i drive manual transmission cars as well.

Luddite...:)

I have a number of friends who have ridden the mission RS on the street, i should note it was a prototype but all of them were very impressed and said it was very fast.

It's certainly the future and these bikes are only getting better.

I'm one of the 40 to get the RS but the delay is wearing on me and with the KTM 1290 almost here I'm reevaluating whether to take delivery.

I test rode the RS and it's like no other sportbike experience. It's really fast and handles incredibly. A must try for everyone. Battery tech is only going to get better exponentially so range is going to be a non-issue. Tesla's new SUV will carry a 600-750 mile range.
